Back in 94 he grabbed my head wrapped his cord around my neck and sang Boulermaker in my face for the whole song....pulled me up ...and it was the greatest stage dive of my life
They always sound spot on… I’ve seen David Yow live so many times throughout the years all the way back to Scratch Acid (yep,I’m old AF) and he still sounds exactly the same.. he is my spirit animal!
First time i heard of David Yow, and Jesus Lizard was in 1995. On Encomium a tribute to Led Zepplin, there was a cover of Custard Pie, and i was like who the fuck is this singer? Started buying Jesus Lizard Cd's after that....Jesus Lizard is awesome... Yow is a Legend.
My god... I expected something a bit soft after listening the new album but damn... I made about the same face as the wolf on the cartoon. This is AWESOME
Should have left it alone boys. Love you to the moon. Saw you so many times all through the 90s. Greatest ever. This doesn't work. Missing is a small venue, people packed in like sardines and energy that you feel in your bones. Your music and the memories remain. Not made for the big stage.
OMFG! PUSS OPENER! Had a beer with Yow @ the Roxy in Brisbane Aus back in 95 or 96. He was just chilling by the bar at the back taking in the supports. Such a nice bloke. Was up front at his Livid Fest set round that time too. So good to see him so happy and just as fkn crazy and simultaneously sweet AF on stage as he was back then. So much ❤
I know everyone here has a JL story, this band were such a part of my youth - I'm 55 now. Anyway one night they played the Manchester Boardwalk (UK small venue). David jumped into the crowd within seconds of the first song, I caught him in a fireman's lift and ran him all the way to the back and dumped him on the sound desk (it wasn't that far away). Can't remember much more, the crowd parted like the red sea and Yow carried on back to the stage. Oh f**k was it an Alice Donut gig? No no no it wasn't No Means No either. What a time to be alive. Full respect to everyone watching. My experience, my story. 👍my life. Bless you all.
It was a badge of honor for my old college roommate when David punched him in the face in the heat of the moment at a show in Chicago. They are arguably one of the most powerful bands I've ever seen live and one of Kurt Cobain's favorite bands
OMG unbelievable, one of my all-time favourites and absolutely loved bands, back at it with exactly the same energy as before, amazing new songs… They look older, but it's like they're coming straight from the 90s with just this new (old) skin, lol. And David Yow, what a guy! I still remember back in the days, when he suddenly appeared on stage, all naked, at a festival (Dour festival in Belgium?) after their own gig and during the next band, which I think was Ministry… So he was just there dancing naked on another band's music (Ministry?), before being taken away by the security staff. 😂 Legend. Living legend!
Well, I was expecting at least a couple songs from "Rack". I mean this is perfection (especially considering they are elderly now😉) but I was wondering what "Hide and Seek" sounded like live.

Still crazy after all these beers!

Greatest live band.

The greatest band to ever walk the earth. Thank you for existing at the same time as me.
Yeah but you're just saying that because it's true
@@dylanputerr no because they’re grateful

From 1:00:25 has got to be some of the most amazing David Yow footage ever
That encapsulates what it’s like at their shows perfectly

I cant believe these guys are still playing... sound just as good as they did 30+ years ago.
Is that my dad?
Fantastic show, thanks very much for posting... great to have these guys back touring again 🤩
Best live band Ive seen.
They always sound spot on… I’ve seen David Yow live so many times throughout the years all the way back to Scratch Acid (yep,I’m old AF) and he still sounds exactly the same.. he is my spirit animal!

Whatever mic he used to record this is great.
Greatest live rock band of all time. They're still killing. The new record is awesome!

Saludos de Chile,

David Yow, gracias infinitas
Man I thought I was old.
its amazing how many bands these days have been influenced by The Jesus Lizard... they still got it... in heaps..still exciting and still relevant...
Gotta love Dave. ❤❤❤ THE JESUS LIZARD RULES!

Incredible performers. Would love to see the guitarist!

Best Dad Band Ever
I can't believe they ended the nite with fly on the wall.
Jackie The Jokeman Martling still out there rockin
Oh David 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why does Duane Dennison look like Ted Danson?
Love how these dudes in their 60s, especially Yow, are mopping the floor with the younger posers in the audience.
1:00:25
Scowl? Did they play live or backing track? Fla was Milli Vanilli
😅😅😅
All dudes as far as the eye can see 😂
They found him, in a latrine hiding.....
Always wondered why they never played that one live? It’s such a banger.
Who else played on this bill?
Scowl
Pantomima dei bei tempi ma meglio di niente.
It’s honest and with heart
Mofos came out hard Dallas, TX 2024
I'm trying to think of something edgy and offensive but which is objectively true...got it! Meg Whitestripe sucks compared to Mac! Ha ha!
Ugh, the sing-a-longs ruin the weirdness! It's not pop music!
@@beartrapperkc I feel the same way like you do. This is not Lana Del Rey show.
Thats what 30 odd years does to you.
I had a great time there.
No complaints.
like it or not this is an established band who had a split with Nirvana and had a dalliance with a major label for a while.
I get the impression that the singer is bummed that he is still alive
Naw. They just recorded a new album.
He's great
grandpa's been drinking again
no grandpa! don't clime on that stage! that's a live music show!
Killer!
