If the power goes out in your home the most important thing to do is conserve electricity for important uses such as lighting, routers, phones. If you want to burn through electricity during a power outage get a gasoline powered generator.

yea i was confused by that
usually, half the outlets are just surge protected with no battery backup and half are on backup power actual UPS and also are surge protected.
some fancy ones offer a control outlet that is ups protected that has slave outlets that turn on and off with that outlet for turning monitor and speakers off and on with PC

Doing my own research, it looks like APC Back-UPS Pro 1500VA is the best bang for your buck. 900 W @ 4min 7s and 1080 J surge energy rating for $230-$280
I just bought an APC UPS like your number 4 and something you say contradicts the info I have so far. You may be right since I haven't installed it yet. But you say that only some of the outlets have surge protection. Amazon and APC say all have surge protection but only 6 have battery backup. And I think it's a bit more of a beast than the amazon, which I think is only 1100 compared to the 1500. But I'm talking out my butt here. The only thing i understand is that 1500 is bigger than 1100. But I do know there is some contradictory data out there. Anyway, great video. Cheers.
Mentioned some good brands but omitted to mention the type of Battery, I have a Bluetti 750 LiFePo and get close to 10 hrs on a 75 W draw, I suppose there all feed thru connection, will have to research more. Thanks for the time put into the video,

I think he's incorrect about the surge protected outlets on the APC units.. It's 4 outlets are just surge protected and the other five are backup and surge protected.. He's got the info backwards..
I think I'd rather be given the information so that I can chose which I think is best for me, rather than being told which is best for me as the video intro states.
Do any of these UPS units have Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries? These are safer than other chemistries.
