I think there's a curse that lowers success chance, but this one doesn't I think? Not sure though. I think it just failed by chance :S Failed for me as well on one sim and that one wasn't cursed ;(
It fails because it's low quality, I think, because my sim got his first potion right after he was turned and the potion didn't work. He obviousle didn't have any curses, so... :/
he should have opened the capsules .. could have contained the dolls that ARE used in other potions. What do you want to bet he'll be looking for those later? lol
Didn’t you get Column the perk with her talent points that means you don’t need all the ingredients for a potion? If you did and you have 2/3 ingredients, you may be able to make it without the alabaster. :)
Also there is a dig site just behind the empty lot in Glimmerbrook when you first load the neighborhood and it has items that pertains to the Magical Realm.
Lol I downloaded one of James' houses off the gallery and there were holes in THAT ceiling. It took me 100 days to figure out why I kept getting puddles in my house.

Soooo no one is going to tell him that you can learn stuff by yourself too? While the interaction for learning new spells cools down with the sages, I practiced magic as much as I could and my sim figured out spells by herself. Same with potions, if you experiment you learn new ones, if you learned all that is available for your level then you can get the ingredients from it for certain spells, that's how I got the very rare trophies too. Then again, this chaotic way of playing is why I love watching James :D
The potion was cursed to backfire. You're gonna age up unless you drink a normal one. My spellcaster Sim drank a potion of Rejuvenation and the age bar quietly slid back to the beginning of her current life stage.

The potion definitely went awry.! Had that happen to one of my sims, while it worked for another one. I think auto aging in sims 4 doesn't have a fixed time of the day? Iirc for me it mostly was during the night, but I don't think it's always at 6pm like it used to be in sims2... (For the sim that had the potion go wrong it was at 2 am or something, but I wouldn't count on it taking that long every time... )
Snow angels inside the house don't go away until spring. I learned that one the annoying way in Windenburg. Also, you have Transportiate. You can click on Column and set it to where she always transports herself everywhere. (Or alternatively you can do that with the broom. They won't auto use either method unless you tell them to.)
Buy a Potion of Youth! Or try making the potion anyway, I think Column has the perk where she doesn't always need all of the ingredients to make a potion...
no, the perk is that she may not use them all, as in they dont get used from her inventory, she still needs them in her inventory to do the spell though
Oh this video felt like a good old rags to riches :) Now I need to find out what that Celestial Crystal Crown is, because it sounded interesting when reading the crystal descriptions. I feel like a lot of Simmers on TH-cam never really use the aura stuff or what crystals can apparently do when used with a celestial crystal crown when it can really be more useful to e.g. have a lamp to get a Sim into a focused mood instead of having them drink tea or something. I feel stuff like that doesn't get enough focus while it's a really neat thing in this game. And yes, one perk of e.g. having a dog your Sims have to take on a walk is you really get to explore those neighbourhoods, all these little parks and alleys around the neighbourhoods are really cool and also don't get enough attention. And finally this video reminded me I really need to go find the series with the museum as I never watched it before.
I've been using repairio on potions to increase quality to excellent before using copy pasto. Also, make sure you keep morcubus and zombie Carl mysim trophies for potions before selling capsules. Luckily for me, I was using my supersim to do the magic, and he had all mysim trophies on display in his house so I didn't have to find them again, the new aspirations did glitch for him though and it didn't count for him to learn new potions and spells so I had to count them before cheating them up. On a side note, he just repurchased max towers and converted it into a vet clinic and hired Gemma Charm as a vet.
I like the idea of Witch Column doing insurance fraud as like a side gig. Also ready for her to learn the growth spell so she can be an ultimate gardener with her gift of Sulani.
Alabaster is considered a metal I think, not a crystal. Also I think you missed a lot of dig sites in strangerville. Oh, and a lot of what you collected is used in potions. Open them time capsules morcubus and zombie Carl are ingredients
You can buy potion ingredients in the town square in the magic realm. That is where I got alabaster. The shop changes depending on what potions you know
I love how your Sim needs Alabaster and Lemons now. You had them at first, but you sold them. I didn't like how the "Museum" remained a retail lot, but now... I'm rather pleased.
You can use computers to buy crystals iirc (it's not the gift option, but the order option I think, where'd you go to order medicine, etc), also you can check for when sims will age up on the calendar (the day at least). Idk if it'll tell you much more though.
I found that while I was experimenting on cauldron doing potion I got alabaster and some other ingredients as a result, you might want to try experimenting to obtain those difficult ingredients :) Good luck!

You should continuously send Ticket to forage because even if he brings something you don't want you can sell it for money. Personally, my dog/cat familiars always bring me brooms. Lots and lots of brooms.

And here you just find it without trying 😂 But you could try buying the crystal on the computer, or just switch through some aspirations to get enough point for a potion of youth. If she ends up aging up I think it would still be fitting for the story. She is evil and experiments too much with magic for her own good 😂 Dark magic really did age her 😉

I think you have to use a cake I've had a sims bar like that for weeks and didn't age. Also the immortality potion takes diamonds. The apple trees in my game didn't give fruit either not even in summer. Also you could teleport that also will level your magic quicker.

That happened to my immortal super sim too. Luckily, she had enough lifetime points to buy the potion of youth for her. I nearly lost it when she almost became an adult. Young adult forever.
You might be able to check in the menu where you can buy gifts for people (like where you can cheat to easily get medicine). There might be alabaster there, but I only have the Base Game so this is completely conjecture.

So you can duel for ingredients like that, also, you can drink the good fortune potion and experiment at the cauldron for ingredients as well.

Its not that, it just may not use all the ingredients at that time, but you still need them all in your inventory.
I think alabaster is categorised as a metal, not a crystal, so you should dig up the normal rocks as well.
