I had a murphy and like you didn't like the gaps so i bought material that complimented the decor and hung it down the inside back, it was inexpensive, looked great, and didn't interfere with folding the bed up

Looks like the place is working out well for you all and guests too! Seaport Village has changed somewhat but not unrecognizably so. Is the vintage Carousel still there housed in a roundish structure? I'm not sure if it was shut down and sold (seems like I heard from my best friend in Golden Hill years ago it was) but I noticed it wasn't included in the video. We used to go to the eateries there from time to time. If you haven't already, Old Town is fun to enjoy with out of town guests. The outside dining and food (used to be) was always fantastic no matter where you chose to eat. You all looked grand and can't wait to see Alex's Mom in your cooking kitchen debut!
It’s been good for us to have the extra work space! Yes, they have major plans to change seaport village (build an aquarium and new sections of hotels and shopping) but I’ve read it’s a long process and won’t happen for years. For now they have renovated a lot of the existing structures and have painted them blue. New restaurants have opened up in the renovated spaces, the Carosel is still there 😊. I’ve been going here since I was a child (25ish years). A lot of the tourist trinket shops are gone and more local friendly options and food have been put in.
I'm always late to the party. I'm gonna have to set the notification bell or something. I'm about 10 hours late watching this. I enjoyed watching while at work. I hope you guys are having a productive week. Take care-Z

Cooking video is up next - we are ourselves sick on her food - always over eat because it’s just too good to stop! 😅 I think Seaport Village was the perfect spot to go for a sunset stroll. The added space has been great for us! We really needed the workspace and have enjoyed now having a guest room space again! The layout of the loft was amazing… if only it had an extra closed bedroom 🥲
Thank you! Yes, such a headache. They sent out a furniture builder for us and he took one look at all the damage and said it couldn’t be fixed! - so they refunded us and told us to just throw it away… we salvaged it and made it work for us.
To your comment about the open slats on the back of the Murphy Bed: maybe get a tapestry or fabric of your pattern and color choice to hang, glue, staple to the boards. To act as a kind of headboard????

It was a disaster! We recommend getting a Murphy bed - so amazing with being able to have a guest room and an office in the same space! …just don’t get one from Wayfair 😱.
