One of the funniest parts is that when Soos closed the door on the memory of Stan in the vending machine, he said "Boring" because he is Bill Cipher in disguise, and Bill Cipher already knows what's behind there. It also makes his reaction to Stan's "most secret memory" funnier.
While property law doesn't work that way anywhere else in the world, apparently Quentin Trembley introduced the 'finders keepers law' in Gravity Falls which makes it so that simple posession of the title deed is enough to determine ownership, regardless of any applicable signatures.

Mosco, one little thing I think you may not have noticed... Soos sees Stan enter the hideout and says this is "boring", because IT WASN'T SOOS, BUT BILL!! AND HE ALREADY KNEW ABOUT THE SECRET PASSAGE
Ah yes, it was so annoying the way they kept teasing about the secret behind the vending machine only to never reveal anything about it throughout the entire run of the show - probably the most epic red herring in TV history.
A few fun facts: • The reason Soos thought Stans secret room was boring is because that was Bill and he already knows about that room • Gideon says “Backward message” backwards when summoning Bill • The eyes on the birch trees are used by Bill to watch Gravity Falls, so when he’s not entirely (in the mindscape where it’s grayscale) in this world he can still see (which is interesting as some trees in the boiling isles also have these eyes) •This episode is Alex Hircsh chasing Alex Hircsh into Alex Hircsh’s mind (Soos, Stan and Bill) • pay close attention to the symbols on the zodiac wheel around Bill, they’re important Also Bill my favorite character and he is a sacred chaos dorito
It's theorized that the reason said Soos said "Boring" was because he was actually Bill pretending to be him and already knew what Stan was going to say
9:28 that’s a very smart and creative idea, having your audience tell you stuff that don’t actually happens can also hide comments that actually spoil the show or the mystery
I can't wait until Season 2 episode 14 where Stan, Soos, Dipper and Mabel visit the Gravity Falls Lake and find Titan's Blood. They use it and Stan and Soos end up in the Demon Realm. Dipper and Mabel end up in Amphibia The reunion between Stan and his ex-wife Eda is really weird, but it fits really well with both of their characters Dipper and Mabel start living with Anne and the Plantars until Bill arrives and brings everyone back
@@kangerooman5558 you jest but funny enough things like that have happened. Although its usually an attempt to make a spin-off by showing the execs how these new characters and dynamics can work within the already airing show...it rarely pays off though. Or references to personal works that might later get their own shows.
Owl House-Gravity Falls - Im just gonna' flat out tell her, someone needs to.. "Hey, Mosco. Eda is Stan's ex-wife - She came through the portal, met him and they eloped to Vegas. She stole his car and left him on the honeymoon." Wow! I feel better now.
It shocked me when Bill was actually revealed to be Bill Clinton and in season 2 and the author gets revealed and says "I think I want to thank everybody and say that… I think I want to nominate this award to my reformed orthodox rabbi bill Clinton, thank you everybody." but then he gets kidnapped by the gnomes and Mabel and dipper and Stan go on an adventure to save him only to be stopped by the true villian Toby determined
I gotta say Mosco, it's such a treat watching you try to work it out. Gravity Falls is a great mystery, and you have exactly the right approach to get the most enjoyment out of it. Also: I believe I've said this before, but never for a second start believing in the things you say about yourself being a moron etc. You continue to impress with how observant and clever you are - even when you're on the wrong track, you usually are so for a very good reason.
This definitely wasn't one of those "filler" type episodes. This one answered some question only to create more or as you've noticed and almost exploded over, leave us hanging. In the end, Stan's mind wasn't that scary a place.
Love the attention to detail! You should watch the Gravity Falls Shorts before season 2, they were originally released during the break between seasons 1 and 2. There's even one about Stan's tattoo!
In the next episode we find out Stan is actually a clone with a short life and he has pods underneath the shack with other clones trying to find some way to make a stable clone after the original Stan died
Bill Cipher's voice is Alex Hirsch, the creator of Gravity Falls, who also voices King and Hooty in The Owl House. Also, Eda and Stan were briefly married, but she used another name, Marilyn, but it is definitely Eda, which is a really fun cameo.
12:16 you know, Gravity falls and The Owl House takes place in the same Universe (just that TOH takes place in another dimension, but the earth/human realm is the same) so I suppose it makes sense that Stan's mindscape is similiar to the one we know from the owl house
Now that Bill's been introduced, I can't wait for next season when Dipper gets in a wild-west style shootout pixie-powered nerf guns against an army of triangle demons!
I remember being at wondercon when they showed the scene they were going to use instead of the deer teeth scene. I remember clearly when they did the QNA that someone in the audience said that they should have actually done the deer scene since it showed off his power, instead of the scene they showed us.
Fun fact: images of Bill appear in both The Owl House and Amphibia (both of which are confirmed to share a universe with Gravity Falls). Alex Hirsch said that Bill can see through any images of himself into that world.
Dana didn't stole the whole dream or memory world because she was a storyboard artist for the show and pretty sure that dream or memory world was already a thing before gravity falls did
dana and alex were actually in a relationship for like 5 years? so that's maybe why the inspiration? i think dana even worked on gravity falls. but also like mind.. worlds? aren't something alex created, it's a concept thats existed for a long time and can be seen in a lot of media, even in games like persona 5, for example.
You know you might want to go back to where Gidion was looking at Bill Ciphers journal entry and have a real good look at the other symbols in the circle aside from the glasses, trust me on this you'll see something... Interesting there
The brown meat that Stan was stockpiling is actually made from the gnomes. However the stress they’ve experienced from the search for a queen has made the meat incredibly chewy
Behind the vending machine, Stan's alter to Bill really reminds me of the 3rd "Conjuring" film, where the occultist lady had the satanic alter in the sewers.
You asking if Owl House stole the mindscape from Gravity Falls in the same episode Bill is intoduced is so funny to me because you have no idea how freaky it was to grow up terrified of Bill and then start watching Owl House and have a power hungry demon with the exact same voice not be an object of pure terror. The entire first season I tensed up every time King spoke
In Season 3, the Pines twins visit Gravity Falls’ sister town a few miles away, a friendly little town by the name of Night Vale, where they’ll meet one of Tad Strange’s relatives, and Gideon gets banished to Desert Bluffs…
OH! Mosco, if you look closely, one of the pictures in the intro is of Alex Hirsch in the style of the show Also, I think one of the reasons Stan kinda pushes Dipper away is because he reminds him of his brother, and trying to be close to Ford didn't end well Another thing: I stole the "It sucks more then anything!" One time when me and my friends were late to class, I asked the person that had opened the door if they wanted to buy vacuums, and then said "Mars Vacuums(this was way before I'd changed my name to Mars lmao-I just really liked the planet), they suck more then anything!" and it kinda just became a thing with my class and the teacher we'd had that year And one time(I think one or two years after) at the end of the school day, I knocked on the door to her classroom and one of her students opened it, and when I said the fake ad thing, he got the reference and I practically died of happiness because only two people in my class knew what it was fromXD Another highlight from that teacher(she was the favorite of my entire fifteen kid class): she's the first person that actually made me question my gender(and the person that introduced me to the concept of trans people)
Little do you know, Bill getting hurt by synth music is foreshadowing to the series finale where the kids form a synth pop band called "Love Patrol Alpha" to kill him once and for all
And they get the Love God to be their drummer as a nice obscure callback, he just has the nasty tendency to get drunk after concerts and start slurring his speech so it sounds like every word he says is ‘Radda’…
This feels weird, but I just wanted to say it in case anyone cares or is missing my comments, which were quite numerous for a while: I'm still alive, just live is being not-nice these days! Watching videos with Mosco being the smart cookie, or as Hamish put it, "this adorable lil [non-]idiot" always makes my life better though Especially now that we are getting to the parts of Gravity Falls I'm more inclined towards
Btw, not all the monsters in the photo sequence are necessarily covered in the show, for example the black and white “vampire” in the photo is actually a reference to Batboy, a fictional folk tale creature created for Weekly World News, a tabloid series made to parody obviously fake tabloid articles, who frequently used this Batboy as their mascot
If only people knew that behind that door...is Wee Lass' most embarrassing memory. No, not that disaster BI Moment. And not that one from work. The others moment
I can't remember exactly, but what you almost heard was Stan saying "If only people knew the truth; that hiding behind this vending machine, I secretly have... ...astronomical amounts of canned brown meat." ...a big armoured Battle Soos." ...anti Bill Cipher spray." ...a secret collection of Hamish fan art." ...a backup supply of snacks for the machine." ...actual Gideon. Not the evil clone that got away." ...a little cry whenever I need to." ...another shack in the mirror dimension." ...a deep fried pizza." Well, you'll find out soon enough.
ACTUALLY TRUE SPOILER VEIW AT OWN RISK: episode 4 of season 2 is honestly my favorite since it drops a huge bombshell about bills past! It turns out the reason Bill knew who Stan was is because they used to be friends in high school before Bill accidentally fell into a portal ,that was underneath an open manhole, while on a field trip to Gravity Falls. Stan had actually seen Bill fall in and tried to save him , resulting in a strange marking, but was too late. Bill ended up trapped in another dimension slowly warping until Gideon freed him, during this time he slowly grew insane turning into a demon. Also Bills real name was William (Edit) the glasses belonged to Bill btw they fell off and Stan managed to catch them.
Hahahaha love the fake ending with credits roll when you walked off! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's a gag that never gets old! Ah yes, Grunkle Stan's mind. Truly a place of horrors. I'm glad they didn't find the really terrifying stuff! Though the biggest horror in this show is the origin of the hair products Gideon uses to get his poof to stand so tall. The number of people he sacrifies per day... I'm amazed they got it past the censors!
One of the funniest parts is that when Soos closed the door on the memory of Stan in the vending machine, he said "Boring" because he is Bill Cipher in disguise, and Bill Cipher already knows what's behind there. It also makes his reaction to Stan's "most secret memory" funnier.

And so he enters the story, oh boy...Gravity Falls just gets better and better from here.
Ya know I've always found people swearing when they're angry or scared to be a really funny way of handling fear but this reaction right hear 7:34 is just hilarious 😂
Mosco, one little thing I think you may not have noticed... Soos sees Stan enter the hideout and says this is "boring", because IT WASN'T SOOS, BUT BILL!! AND HE ALREADY KNEW ABOUT THE SECRET PASSAGE
TOH and GF were worked on by two people who, at the time, were a couple. They're still friends now.
Ah yes, it was so annoying the way they kept teasing about the secret behind the vending machine only to never reveal anything about it throughout the entire run of the show - probably the most epic red herring in TV history.
As Stan said last episode, remember to buy gold. He and Bill seem to have that in common.
They have a LOT in common. There's a popular theory that connects them pretty well, _but that would be spoiling the ending so... yeah, no_
A few fun facts:
• The reason Soos thought Stans secret room was boring is because that was Bill and he already knows about that room
• Gideon says “Backward message” backwards when summoning Bill
• The eyes on the birch trees are used by Bill to watch Gravity Falls, so when he’s not entirely (in the mindscape where it’s grayscale) in this world he can still see (which is interesting as some trees in the boiling isles also have these eyes)
•This episode is Alex Hircsh chasing Alex Hircsh into Alex Hircsh’s mind (Soos, Stan and Bill)
• pay close attention to the symbols on the zodiac wheel around Bill, they’re important
Also Bill my favorite character and he is a sacred chaos dorito
7:34 Omg this is one of the best initial reactions to Bill that I’ve seen. 🤣
I have my moments 🤣🤣
Seeing you immediately get scared of a polygon is hilarious and cute. I’d love seeing you play a horror game or something.
21:30: So the reason why the signature doesn't matter is because of one of Quentin Trembley's rules: "Finder's Keepers".
I can't wait until Season 2 episode 14 where Stan, Soos, Dipper and Mabel visit the Gravity Falls Lake and find Titan's Blood. They use it and Stan and Soos end up in the Demon Realm. Dipper and Mabel end up in Amphibia
The reunion between Stan and his ex-wife Eda is really weird, but it fits really well with both of their characters
Dipper and Mabel start living with Anne and the Plantars until Bill arrives and brings everyone back
Yeah. I loved it when they did crossovers with those two shows which didn't even exist yet.
@@kangerooman5558 you jest but funny enough things like that have happened. Although its usually an attempt to make a spin-off by showing the execs how these new characters and dynamics can work within the already airing show...it rarely pays off though. Or references to personal works that might later get their own shows.
"No one consented to THAT!" The way you said it. 😆
oh this'll be good! I love bill's character in all episodes he is in! His demon abilities all about the weird so it's interesting!
Yay I super excited for this reaction with everyone’s favorite Triangle Bill!
Fun fact : what Gideon said was "Backwards message" but in reverse using his skills of "ventriloquie" probably (I'm french and I love your channel)
salut compatriote :D
et oui c'est bien "ventriloquism" en anglais
Alex Hirsch voices the most characters in this show. Bill was supposed to be voiced by David Lynch but he declined the roll
Was David Lynch on drugs?
@@alexandruulesan7009 In general or this time specifically?
@@boghag yes
I gotta say Mosco, it's such a treat watching you try to work it out. Gravity Falls is a great mystery, and you have exactly the right approach to get the most enjoyment out of it.
Also: I believe I've said this before, but never for a second start believing in the things you say about yourself being a moron etc. You continue to impress with how observant and clever you are - even when you're on the wrong track, you usually are so for a very good reason.
7:33 a perfect way to describe everyone's reaction to a talking Dorito with a bowtie
The swing 11:36 in his mind is a Symbol of his past and how a part of him is broken
This definitely wasn't one of those "filler" type episodes. This one answered some question only to create more or as you've noticed and almost exploded over, leave us hanging. In the end, Stan's mind wasn't that scary a place.
Wait until Mosco realise that Bill was secretly the triangle necklace she was wearing all along
dam Bill truly is everywhere.
Love the attention to detail! You should watch the Gravity Falls Shorts before season 2, they were originally released during the break between seasons 1 and 2. There's even one about Stan's tattoo!
2:28 gideons the cat stan is the old man with a broom chasing the stray out
In the next episode we find out Stan is actually a clone with a short life and he has pods underneath the shack with other clones trying to find some way to make a stable clone after the original Stan died
As for the deed, Gravity Falls follows the "Don't Think About it Too Hard" school of jurisprudence.
Dana didn't stole the whole dream or memory world because she was a storyboard artist for the show and pretty sure that dream or memory world was already a thing before gravity falls did
14:05 is the moment I've been waiting for most. 🤣🤣🤣
such an amazing episode. great character stuff with dipper and stan and we meet BILL
super excited for your reaction to next episode as well
dana and alex were actually in a relationship for like 5 years? so that's maybe why the inspiration? i think dana even worked on gravity falls. but also like mind.. worlds? aren't something alex created, it's a concept thats existed for a long time and can be seen in a lot of media, even in games like persona 5, for example.
The video is a premiere this time!? YES!
You know you might want to go back to where Gidion was looking at Bill Ciphers journal entry and have a real good look at the other symbols in the circle aside from the glasses, trust me on this you'll see something... Interesting there
Moscow, you looked like a confused cat on the “we have never had that before” moment lol
The brown meat that Stan was stockpiling is actually made from the gnomes. However the stress they’ve experienced from the search for a queen has made the meat incredibly chewy
Dying!
Oh man that face 14:12
I had to stop and go for a cup of tea I was laughing so hard!
I love how king has the same voice as bill just without the special sound editing
Make sure to watch the Gravity Falls shorts before season 2 as they take place between the seasons
There’s no third season
"Backwards Message Backwards Message Backwards Message"
-Gideon's chant xD They're just trolling us!
OH! Mosco, if you look closely, one of the pictures in the intro is of Alex Hirsch in the style of the show
Also, I think one of the reasons Stan kinda pushes Dipper away is because he reminds him of his brother, and trying to be close to Ford didn't end well
Another thing: I stole the "It sucks more then anything!"
One time when me and my friends were late to class, I asked the person that had opened the door if they wanted to buy vacuums, and then said "Mars Vacuums(this was way before I'd changed my name to Mars lmao-I just really liked the planet), they suck more then anything!" and it kinda just became a thing with my class and the teacher we'd had that year
And one time(I think one or two years after) at the end of the school day, I knocked on the door to her classroom and one of her students opened it, and when I said the fake ad thing, he got the reference and I practically died of happiness because only two people in my class knew what it was fromXD
Another highlight from that teacher(she was the favorite of my entire fifteen kid class): she's the first person that actually made me question my gender(and the person that introduced me to the concept of trans people)
Little do you know, Bill getting hurt by synth music is foreshadowing to the series finale where the kids form a synth pop band called "Love Patrol Alpha" to kill him once and for all
And they get the Love God to be their drummer as a nice obscure callback, he just has the nasty tendency to get drunk after concerts and start slurring his speech so it sounds like every word he says is ‘Radda’…
and it was there that Bill Cipher made Dipper's greatest dream come true....re-enact his favourite scene from Ichigo vs Ulquiorra
This feels weird, but I just wanted to say it in case anyone cares or is missing my comments, which were quite numerous for a while: I'm still alive, just live is being not-nice these days!
Watching videos with Mosco being the smart cookie, or as Hamish put it, "this adorable lil [non-]idiot" always makes my life better though Especially now that we are getting to the parts of Gravity Falls I'm more inclined towards
hope things will be better and better with time ! Wishing you the best, friend ^^
This is basically the record scratch episode, where the creators slam on the gas.
Hoo doggie.
12:17 well they do have the creator Alex Hirsch involved lol (he voices King after all)
3:37 and Thats How we met (:
If only people knew that behind that door...is Wee Lass' most embarrassing memory. No, not that disaster BI Moment. And not that one from work. The others moment
10:05 Caesar, Atbash and A1226 are all the ciphers needed to decode the messages.
The vampire baby thingy is Bat Boy, a well-known US celebrity. Look him up!
14:12: Here's a thought. What if that was actually Bill, because he already knows. Or maybe it was just Soos being dumb. We don't really know.
Hamish has done _so_ much heavy work this episode X'D
I can't remember exactly, but what you almost heard was Stan saying "If only people knew the truth; that hiding behind this vending machine, I secretly have...
...astronomical amounts of canned brown meat."
...a big armoured Battle Soos."
...anti Bill Cipher spray."
...a secret collection of Hamish fan art."
...a backup supply of snacks for the machine."
...actual Gideon. Not the evil clone that got away."
...a little cry whenever I need to."
...another shack in the mirror dimension."
...a deep fried pizza."
Well, you'll find out soon enough.
The Bat Baby is a reference to a series of National Inquirer articles.
When the wierd noises happened in the begining there was a wierd noise in my house perfectly timed.
Everything changes as soon as the Dorito hits the screen.
It really took me a while to get used to King in The Owl House after being used to the voice as Bill.
Hoo boy.
ACTUALLY TRUE SPOILER VEIW AT OWN RISK:
episode 4 of season 2 is honestly my favorite since it drops a huge bombshell about bills past!
Bill Cypher is just Lazy Susan's other eye, out for revenge for breaking her heart
I didn't realize until 18:57 that her necklace looks like bill
Hahahaha love the fake ending with credits roll when you walked off! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's a gag that never gets old!
Ah yes, Grunkle Stan's mind. Truly a place of horrors. I'm glad they didn't find the really terrifying stuff!
Though the biggest horror in this show is the origin of the hair products Gideon uses to get his poof to stand so tall. The number of people he sacrifies per day... I'm amazed they got it past the censors!
She did it, guys! She finally met Bill Cipher, King's past life!
