I never got to meet Dr. Gene Scott, but my mother knew him when he lived in Oroville, CA. That was a long time ago, back in the early 70s, and she was always impressed with him. In the 80's, I began watching Dr. Scott's late-night messages on TV. Then later, I moved to L.A. in '89. But I never got to see him in person while he was there. R.I.P., Dr. Scott.
My father would play Dr. Scott tapes for my brothers and I when we were very very young. Dr. Scott had a big influence on my father, and he is engrained way into the back of my conscience. I am very happy to see this video on youtube.

I believe it was channel 56 back in the late 70s and early 80s i watched him in Los Angeles county. 3 Minister's i admired the most in all my life for their very direct, educated and stern ministries were #1 Dr Gene Scott,. #2 Herbert W Armstrong (same era) and #3 Arnold Murray (also same era). All 3 ministered from the bible, not any organization or denomination. Most importantly for me what they taught was not only an educational experience, inspirational as well. Hard to find now days. (going to listen to the new Scott i had no idea about, im betting Shes gotta lot of Gene in her...hope so :))
First time I heard doc. I asked a girl out on a date at her work place. She said “take me home so I can change and then we’ll go out.” She still lived with her parents and when we walked into their home I see this strange gray haired dude on the tv smoking a cigar with a funny hat on and a Bible open on his lap. Now to a northern baptist kid this was very strange indeed. He was teaching on Galatians and by the time she was ready to go she had to pull me away from the tv. God used his teaching to draw me into a closer relationship to Himself that I didn’t even know was possible. I married that girl, and we’re still happily married 30 years later. I still remember that first first message. Grace! Cornerstone of Docs teaching, and Gods word to us. Keep doing what you’re doing Pastor M Scott. God’s breaking down the barriers, and putting your enemies into their place. Remember the messages on rebuilding the temple? The asshats that came as friends and supporters at first but turned out to be liars and spreaders of decent. Just one of many messages that clue us in to the truth of the battles we are fighting. God sets up his command post in the valleys where we are. Keep doing what your doing Pastor M Scott, God is with you.

Remember watching Dr. Gene Scott on T.V back in the day and even went several times out to Glendale before he moved downtown on Broadway where I also attended services there .. Honestly I learned so much from this man regardless of all the controversy that came from his different battles .. He truly knew the word of God and loved his teaching on Grace and the Resurrection.. Definitely he taught the Book of Revelations like none other .. Basically was a great mind and Bible Scholar Par Excellent..
We were probably there together. I attended downtown Broadway as well with my father. Never did like those uncomfortable seats or when the A/C was out, but enjoyed every minute I was there.

I dont beieve in the bok worship control reigion. Im a wiccan, and i see the divine in nature, not a book. Books are for sheep who need a sheperd like so many terrorist groups. But, the doctor was suely a good speaker and im sure he helped millions of people.
