Almost 300$ for a trimmer should be criminal. It's sad that us barbers normalized these prices. Great video and review by the way, the quality of these videos are insane.
Im only looking for a trimmer for line work not debulking. Is the psycho blade better than the blade that comes with the xo for lines? I have the babyliss and it is underwhelming. Might just go back to andis gtx exo
@@DoritosResidue For line work the psycho blade is all I use. Like any blade I always zero gap and adjust it but once i have it dialed in it works amazing for me
Babyliss gold fx is the GOAT. I own the fx one version, absolutely killer. Great video brother. BTW - I noticed you're in Toronto. I got my fx one trimmer for $160 CAD. Not sure where you buy your tools but I have a good place.
Hi my name is malakai I found this video interesting, especially how you showed the two trimmers from many perspectives this gave me thoughts on how to look at all barber brands that sell trimmers and clippers, and it has also changed my mind on also going for the expensive ones, thank you for you point of view on these trimmers
been using my Tpob XO since it came out, it only cuts through certain hair types. they are good finishing the cut (detailing) but i never pick them up. Just giving different perspectives
@ I have a lot of clippers on my station and really just comes down to what does the job best out of the equipment i’m using. if i needed it to, i could get the job done with them but they tend tug hair sometimes and drag on skin. i like my tools to work with me not against and sometimes i feel like it’s making my job harder than it needs to be
I like tpob clippers but not a fan of the trimmers. For me personally the x pro with the one cutting blade on sc/gamma are my favorite, gold fx close second.
@@jt2475 niceeee. the xos hit different and the ghost x i LOVE for balding skin fades and under the neck line. best soft trimmer on the market in my opinion
@ I agree with them being the best soft trimmer. Have yet to have it snag or pull. I like to use them on my clients ears and nose, I know I jam it in there and it won’t cut em
The better comparison would have been the fx one which cost the same as the boost but way better blade, quieter, and if the comparison was with the new lopro fx one tpob is no comparison
🧐🧐🧐 so no to the fx one… sorry not sorry it’s hard to beat a Babyliss trimmer 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️ the boost vs the FX one is a completely different trimmer I get it tho and it’s only $150-160 approximately 20.00 to $30 more
No way bro, so many better trimmers out there . The build is good. Solid. They recently added usbC to it which is good . The boost grips are dope. But I think the babyliss plate at top of the body should be rubber . And the blades just arnt that good fam. They really arnt. Blows my mind how many barbers outhere are using these blades and thinking they are the best. If you get it sharpened and modified properly yea it could work well. They need to get rid of the coatings and leave it the raw metals with a good sharpening.
Not a fan of that style blade. Babyliss trimmers are no where near as good as 97% of the industry says they are. The best blade they have is the blue fx. And even then it’s still not as good as a trimmer blade should be. The TPOB crazy blade is a lil bit better than that blue one. Those are the best ones for that style and build . If I were to cop another trimmer with that style blade set it’ll be the white and black X trimmer and I’d put my modified blue fx blade on it , just wish it had USB C like the XOs . The white and black Xs fit the hand better than the flashlight build the FXs have. I gave all my babyliss trimmers away. I have like 2 left and one gets no use and the other I use like 3 times a month as of late. Nothing beats the small gold blade from SC/Gamma.you can put it on the shittiest SC/Gamma trimmer and it’ll still work great. . Gna cop the PLAY trimmer kuz it has that same shape blade.excited to have that one in hand and see how it works.

Both of’em loud af🫨
@@topcatgrindhard2959 nah they’re not that bad. if a trimmer gets loud usually it’s because of the blade
They can be loud. It’s mainly because of the cam follower is worn or even more the blade guide gets worn.
