I knew a kid in the Panhandle descended from the people Lake Meridith was named for, and his name was Mackenzie Meridith. Thought that was neat. Two lake names.
I grew up in Tulia and Silverton, seeing this video was so awesome! Thank you! When I get to travel back that way, I always take my kids to the look outs. Very nostalgic! Have you ever driven out to Flomot, Tx? The drive is beautiful.
Thanks for these recent vids on the Panhandle. I first commented on one of your vids several months ago about the bike path going into Caprock Canyons park as I was planning on moving to the area. Finally after a few setbacks those plans will be realized at the end of this month! A lot of people I tell this to try to warn me that the Panhandle is just flat and boring with nothing to do but your vids of the area have proven that is definitely not the case.
Follow your bliss! Dunno if you're out there yet or not. The people within the Panhandle Region aren't very warm to transplants, especially if you're from a Yankee region or the West Coast. If you can make it work despite being a transplant, then you got it made.
Sweet. Been wanting to take my motorcycle there to ride the trails. I guess you will be stopping at Caprock Canyon State park next? You will find plenty of hiking there. Btw, the lake is at 8.4% right now. Very low. If you take 207 south it's pretty amazing as well. Hwy 651 can compete with this hwy.
Just found you and that is a great area. Also you are showing Texans that you don't need to invade Colorado when you got all of this in your own yard...
I saw tents right next to the lake near the beach area but the road says 4 wheel drive only. There are several RV sites and probably tent sites up on the hill above the lake.
Wow! Thanks for this.👍😎🇨🇦🌲
Beautiful documentary ❤️💚!! So many beautiful epic scenes !!! Thank you 😊 🌈
Cool go-pro fish eye images!
Your video work is a treat for folks who might not be able to go to these beautiful places. Makes me hungry to hit the road. Please keep sharing!
Thanks for this video and view of this beautiful lake. Never even heard of it
I grew up at this lake as a kid, there used to be goats on that island. Don't know if they're still there.

WOW!! That's a beautiful. Thank you
Beautiful Scenery
WoW, figured that lake would be holding a lot more water than how it looks. Great video, thanks for sharing
Texas has so much to offer! Thank you for sharing!
Good job making this lake look good. Poor lake is drying up....
Beautiful, nice and quiet...
beautiful landscapes and nice lake, greetings👍
Thank you for this great information about McKinsey lake.
I was wondering, is there a western or any movie you really like that plays in Texas and presents the lifestyle of the 1800s?

I like that lake and I have ridden all of the motorcycle and ATV trails and Camp there a couple of times in the RV campsites
Use to work at TDCJ COLORADO CITY. IN 1997 WISH I KNEW I WAS SO CLOSE TO THAT LAKE AS WELL AS PALODURO
I was struck by the landscape once...and it hurt like heck....love your channel. Keep up the great content.

Another nice little campground is at McClellan Creek National Grassland right off I-40.

Great video of a place I now want to visit. The "Pipe Grills" are a sweet touch to the picnic sites ...
Great series, keep up the good work!
"I don't think anyone's cleaned this restroom in awhile." Haha. Yes, a beautiful lake! Another cool video!
Thanks for stopping by again. See you soon.
I live in Canyon, need to visit this lake
I live in Oklahoma that’s a beautiful place
It looks like the state would have to repair all the facilities for public access.... would love to visit this

Wonder why it's fallen into disrepair?
Can u get closer to the lake to camp out. On a big touring motorcycle. HD

The road going down into the beach is very steep, although I've taken my mid-sized suv, no 4 wheel drive, and I've made it out every time! 😀
This is a good place for snakes.
This is panhandle not west Texas very beautiful though I love 1🇺🇸
Freaking awesome
“I’ll pass”. Haha.
This is not west Texas. It’s the panhandle which is north Texas. Just sayin
The Panhandle and North Texas are actually considered 2 different areas as well.
@@samg7378 you are correct sir.
Mein Gott, sehr schön 🥰
Gruß aus Germany ❤️
Looks a lot like an old Rock Quarry thats flooded.
But it's part of a side canyon that leads to the downstream end of Palo Duro
Ummmmmmmm, that’s north Texas. Nothing west about it 🤦🏻♂️
The Panhandle, North Texas is the Dallas/Fort Worth area
@@samg7378 🤦🏻♂️
Not exactly West Texas but still a good video.
