I live in the US, in an earthquake zone. You've given me some excellent ideas. I would say that as a young woman, make sure you have period products in there.
Good ideas. One should always be prepared! I didn’t even think to use plastic wrap inside dishes to help with cleaning. Maybe some hand sanitizer, a change of clothes and some sanitary products for women.
This was such an informative video. You definitely have a variety of emergency stuff available in local stores. Most of the items you showed I would have to order online; which is very disheartening when you live in an area that has quite a number of tornadoes every year.
Recommended item: Hand and foot warmers, in case emergency happens during cold days. 👍 I hope no emergency happens in your country, but if it does, I am glad you are prepared. 💛
I do not live in an earthquake zone but tornadoes and hurricanes are common occurrences where I live in the United States. I can still use the ideas I saw in your informative vid. Stay safe, Usako!🐰
I live in Florida and we're always reminded every year to have our emergency supplies for the coming hurricane season. I keep things on hand all year, because, even thunderstorms can get bad here and we may lose power for a time and sometimes flooding can be an issue. May I suggest including feminine hygiene products and hair ties, if needed. Hats and sunscreen are also good to have when it's hot and sunny. A small brush or comb is also nice to have. I believe it's important to always be prepared. You gave me some ideas that aren't listed on the state's suggested list. Be safe and stay well. Greetings from Northwest Florida and thank you for your video.
It is good to have a preparedness kit for each member of the family. If you have a car then you will need a preparedness kit for that. Plus your husband should keep one at his work.
Hi living in the Seattle area, we have a couple emergency packs in the garage, reminds me to double check them for expiration dates. Also on the light you purchased, check the batteries for leakage every 6 months, if it has remove the batteries and clean. If you don’t then the device may be unusable in the future. Also consider the screw drivers, to open anything with batteries. Consider using a calendar app to know when to replace items nearing an expiration date.
Thank you for posting. You asked about what items you might have missed. Two things stand out for me: Knives, and firestarter. I say knives, plural, because, if you have only one, and it gets lost, or stolen, in an emergency evacuation, then you have none. So, two knives, one a sturdy pocket-sized folding type, and the other a boxcutter, with a supply of replacement blades. If you think you might have to spend time outdoors, then you should have a bigger camp knife, in a sheath, for heavier cutting jobs. These often have a sharpening stone in a small pocket on the sheath. For starting fires, yes, matches work, but you only carry a certain number, and when they are gone, you have no more. There are ways of starting a fire without matches, ways that do no run out. A small striker kit that gives hot sparks to ignite a fire. A small battery, with the terminals connected by a small piece of aluminum foil, will ignite a small pile of bits of paper, or wood shavings, or dead leaves, or, funny as it sounds, dryer lint. Once your small fire is started, you can build up, with twigs, until your have a fire that will burn sticks or even branches. I hope you never have to use your emergency evacuation kit.
I'd like to suggest water purification tables. If there is no bottled water around, you'll have to find a supply and the tablets are small and compact. A sewing kit that can double for fishing kit if needed and perhaps a multitool.
Thank you for the informative video. I hope you never have to use those knapsacks. You might consider packing a separate one for your husband just in case the two of you are separated during the disaster.
Great job adding to your 72 hour kit. I'd add water purification, Costco in the US has Lifestraws on sale, and Amazon would have them too. Others mentioned a sturdy knife and fire starter kit. If you store dried food at home for emergencies, don't forget to store the water to cook them. Add to your stockpile gradually and it will grow in no time.
You should try a hiking backpack with padded hip belts. Most of the weight goes to your hips, so you can carry a lot more without hurting your back. A good hiking backpack usually comes with a cover rain, an extra pocket for a hydration system and stow straps to carry things like sleeping bags. I love your videos and hope you never have to use any of these things for emergency purposes. ♥
Hi Usako , so glad to see you after a long time absence...we have a very sever forest fire these days too , I understand your situation friend....please make clips sooner , we miss you, really like your videos , it was excellent as usual ❤😊🌸
I've found this video soo helpful, thank you for your useful advices 😊, just one question any idea about personal items such as: how to place a bit of makeup inside the backpack? Thank you ! 🫶
You might consider adding duck tape which can be used for a multitude of purposes. Also, sun screen as you might find yourself trapped without a reliable shelter and don't want to burn. My husband and I also have a tarp in our gear which can be used for various purposes.
a tip from me and my mother, sunscreen! factor 50 or 50+, in case you have to evacuate during a hot day with strong uv rays, getting severe sunburn could be very dangerous if treatment is hard to obtain!
Hello my dear friend thanks for your video 👋🙏 Good evening ! I’m so sorry about the event I pry for you and all people in Japon God blessed you and your family and all Japonaise ✝️ what amazing safety bag you have to do for immergent ! I so incredibly confused and I wish you haven’t anymore events thank you for your explanation and I hope you have a great nice night and week with safety and healthy bye bye and see you soon with God 😘🥰👍👏🙏💕💞💓✝️
Thank you. I have a dog and cat their bowls are included and food. I added my house key. My driverslicence in my phone. Extra knive like swissarmy knive. Notebook and pen
Keep a photocopy of your driver's license too because if your phone dies you'll want a physical copy. Sometimes when areas are evacuated and only residents are allowed to return, you'll need to show proof of residence.
Usako, I loved your video! If anyone has medical problems or conditions I would have a copy of their conditions along with any medication that they take for it in case that person needs to be taken to a hospital. I would also add in a small hand lotion, chap stick, and even a nail kit in case you need to cut your nails or file them. I always keep a small amount of candy on me as well in case my blood sugar drops. I hope you guys stay safe and thank you again for a great video!
Ahoj Usako.
thank you for this very informative video. You made me think more about prevention backpacks. the items who have chosen are a great plus and maybe i may suggest some feminine hygiene products , plus woollen caps or scarves. Takce care and be safe xx
Having been in a major quake, I can say you won’t be worried about brushing your teeth or washing your hair. Have enough water to survive at least three days. If you always have bottled water on hand you won’t have to worry.
The toothbrushes and hair supplies would be handy if they have to stay at an evacuation center where immediate shelter and food needs are being met. But if you're in survival mode, water and food are the most important definitely.
I'm so happy to see you making up a "bug out bag" as we in the states call it. You should have at least 3 to 5 days of food and water just in case. You did a good job!
I would definitely recommend LifeStraws and water purification tablets in case clean water is not available. It was a very informative video, thank you! I should do the same...
I hope and pray you and your husband will be safe. I hope there will not be a terrible earthquake. You might want to add matches or a lighter to your kit. Hopefully you will have a good evacuation center nearby.
I would have a more complete medical supplies emergency kit with various sizes of bandaids, gauze, medical tape, nitrile/vinyl/latex gloves, a couple of sizes of Ace wraps, a roll of self adhesive sports tape/wrap, those emergency ice packs you crush that cool on their own, tweezers in case a splinter or glass needs to be removed from a wound, wound disinfectant (like Bactine), an antibiotic ointment (like Neosporin), small scissors, a variety of medications for pain, nausea, diarrhea (not sure which you included), and some feminine hygiene products. That's what came to mind immediately for additional medical supplies. Make emergency cards with your basic information, any medical conditions, allergies, medications taken, blood type (if you know it), and emergency contacts. To manage your emergency supplies create an inventory list with expiration dates for the meds, water, and food and check it every so often to see if anything needs replacing.

Good ideas. One should always be prepared! I didn’t even think to use plastic wrap inside dishes to help with cleaning. Maybe some hand sanitizer, a change of clothes and some sanitary products for women.

A string wire “saw” and fire starting kit should go in your emergency pack. Possibly a small sturdy tarp for shelter if you can fit it in your bag.
Thank you for posting.

Usako Why didn't you pack sanitary pads? its necessary.
Which solidifying agent do you use for used oil?
I wish you to stay well! Nice video as usual! Thanks for the tips, I live in an area at risk to flooding, so it can inspire me!

Extra clothes such as shirt can also be useful. I also added a waterproof-ish jacket with hood in my bag.
That was incredibly helpful! I need to go through my emergency kit.
Hola Usako!
Sanitary pads are a good thing to have. Also lighter or matches. And Swiss knife.
Thank you so much for sharing those items! I live in Portugal and is also a place with earthquakes. 👍😘😘

Usako-san, a real knife could be a good addition (like a swiss army one or leatherman), and paper + a wood pencil (just take the small one at Ikea :p)

I live in America and a person in our house wants us all have a prepare emergency go bag
If you don’t have to leave your home fill up bathtub with water
They have giant bags like the one she showed to fill with water but bathtub sized. That way the water can be kept sealed. Amazon sells them.
Bom dia fique bem.DEUS GUARDE VCS.🙏🌻🌷💚💙

I wouldn't leave the batteries in the headlamp. Just put them in a plastic bag with it.

Igitt, Hot water in a PLASTIK BOTTLE ?
All this PLASTIK is Not good for the World 😢
