Is it still tradition to not allow visitors to see the baby for 40 days? I just looked it up online. All that I know is I hope all is well with Nikola Jokic and his family. He is the reason I got interested in basketball after losing interest when Magic Johnson retired. His humility and unselfishness won me over. I also remember when Rudy Gobert missed a playoff game to be with his girlfriend when she gave birth. I have the utmost respect for him for doing that. Despite the salaries, basketball is a game. I can only imagine what it will mean to his son knowing how much he valued his birth not to mention what it must have meant to his girlfriend. I totally disagreed with Dramond Green's opinion. Imagine if there were any complications during childbirth. Is the game worth more than being there for one's family in a time of need?

I absolutely agree tht Jokic has the right to keep the details of his time off private. However, as average people, we don’t get paid if we decide to miss a few days of work without a valid reason. I don’t think it should be any different for NBA players, especially given their multi-million-dollar contracts.
