I used an M3, 50mm for decades! I never needed more! I read and see those huge bags, with so much equipment! It's stupid! It's hard work. Modern M Leica, have lousy viewfinders! That's why the 35mm and 28mm! I often need the 35mm, at events! Too many people! Fun to see after a year, two, three? My M3 is 57 years in service! Your use of 28mm great! Super images!
Great concept, excellent images. I love the candid around the house style shots. GAS sucks and the simplicity of one camera, one film sounds really nice. Love the Triple B hat too!
I decided to do this as well! The G.A.S was becoming too real. My set up for 2024 will be Leica M6 + Voigtlander 35mm + Ilford HP5. So almost the same set up as you. Happy to have found your channel and can't wait to see what you create this year.
I feel the same, GREAT VIDEO here. I have been shooting with my M6 and HP5 for about 5 months now, only difference is I shoot with a 35mm 1.5 Voit instead of the 28mm.
This is a good concept. I don’t think I can limit myself to one camera, one lens for a whole year, but I can do it for a shorter period of time, like one or two months. I’ll have to give it a try.
People can see the frame lines!? 😉 But for real, I've just gotten used to tilting my head a little to check the edges, but have had several pairs of glasses become scratched all to hell over the years. Maybe one day I'll spring for a .58 view finder
I’ve given serious thought to this many times but always afraid I would end up regretting all B&W or get frustrated waiting for film to develop. Perhaps that’s the GAS detoxing process.
Good luck on your project. Before I started shooting professionally, it was easy for me to shoot with one-camera, one-lens, and one film for years because I could afford nothing more. I have no desire to return to that way of life.
Yup, I bought a new car and only used first gear for a year, then I bought a new set of golf clubs and only used the five iron for a year and I thought that I was boring!!!!!

I totally agree with you 📷👍
I just came across your channel and instantly amazed by your style!!! Amazing work, looking forward to watching whatever you upload 😊

Nice discussion

The G.A.S. is strong, right! I was looking at a couple voigtlander 35mm lenses myself before setting off on this!
I’m also doing this for the new year with pretty much almost the same set up 😅 good luck on your project! 😊
Thanks! Same to you. It's a great set up to run with!
Your images are dope. Nice storytelling

Those beach pics at the end are so creamy! Also love the off center composition of the mirror selfie 🤟

It's easy! No bag!
I need to try this at some point. I’m curious to know if you normally shoot HP5 at box speed or do you push it?
Thinking of documenting some small towns in Florida. One lens one film to get a consistent look
That would be rad!
how are you comfortably able to shoot on a 28mm lens with your glasses? I have a really hard time seeing the framelines.

I know at some point the B&W will be a challenge, but I think sticking through it will be fun and worth it in the end!
Good luck on your project.

Maybe I missed it but are you using a filter?
On some of the older images, I probably had a yellow filter, but generally, over the past few years, I haven't used any filters

Why not just work on a meaningful project and forget about the equipment? Use what works...
I think that's exactly what he's doing 🤔
My God this is boring! Thought I'd take a look but never again.
Thanks Jim, you looked anyway AND commented. That's good engagement.
