    We have well water and a filtration system, too. We have iron in our water, so our system filters that out also….. We live close to a colonial iron furnace..we have lots red dirt and rocks, but great tasting water from a relatively shallow well 👍🏻👍🏻

    I love my tankless hot water heater. I never run out of hot water. My husband did all that when we were building our house. We are on a concrete slab too. I lost my husband will be 5 years ago in April of this year. I am by myself now. Daughter is married and lives in Mississippi. I live in TN. I only live about 30 miles from her.

    @TheLatinaNextDoor . A good water man can walk the land and then know where the best place to drill is. My dad had his own water business. He drilled and took care of water wells. FYI- Put mothballs in the pump house, right around your electrical and fuse box. It will keep the spiders and ants out of your fuses and contacts. My dad received tons of call that turned out to be a blown fuse due to ants getting into the fuse box.

    I live in a city in Scotland, the water is soft and you can drink right from the tap .It's delicious. I've been in other places in the Uk ( England ) in hard water areas and it's awful . I didnt drink from the tap and bought bottled water . So i understand about how refreshing superior water taste.

      That’s a bad situation. Unless you have power to the well, off grid no electricity no well water. I lived that way for fifteen years. When our electricity when off recently we had water because our water is a co-op well that runs on a diesel powered pump.

    We had copper plumbing and we were gone during an unexpected very early freeze and our plumbing frozen and burst and filled pur home with an insane amount of water. Plumbing was all in attic space so major water damage throughout the home.

    • @TheLatinaNextDoor
      @TheLatinaNextDoor  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I’m sorry to hear that happened, I’m sure it was an awful experience. That can definitely happen. We have close to zero temps here and for that reason even our garage area where the water system will be housed will be insulated. In addition our copper pipes are only located inside interior walls.

    • @Ivelisse529

      😮Whoa! Aren’t you supposed to shut off your main water valve when you leave the house for an extended period of time? I learned that when I lived in FL now we’re in NC so we do that now.

    My Grandfather’s house used well water for as long as I could remember. He died when I was 13, in 1969. Fast forward, my brothers had the land. The county/city, etc., finally forced ppl to somehow pay for water. But, one of my brothers knew how to bypass that bc of his fights w/ the city. Good Luck. But, put in back pocket, should a fight evolve. That was Indiana. Love your journey. Pets…..need a few cats. They are a joy & keep critters away or can alert you better than a dog.

    • @TheLatinaNextDoor
      @TheLatinaNextDoor  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Thank you for the information. This is pretty common practice around here especially since we have so much rock on our mountain. Running pipes through some areas can be a little difficult at times. There are several people on our road that have well water as well.

  • @yvonnedeestanaland6860

    Looking good, plus I'm learning alot from ya'll. In Texas we had to cover our pipes when a freeze came in, will ya'll have to be that

    • @TheLatinaNextDoor
      @TheLatinaNextDoor  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We have pretty harsh winters here. We were just down to 3 degrees earlier this week. We will take all precautions when we move in, however all our pipes are in interior walls so they will experience less cold overall. In addition, the garage is also insulated so the area where we keep the water system etc. will be more protected as well.

    Yami please, please make sure that your contractors dig the well until they reach bedrock , if they don't dig deply enogh you will get water full of debris, bacteria and minerals and you will have to spend a fortune in in filtering and water softening system, filters and filtering media, and sanitizing media. We knew nothing about all this and we bought a house with well water. The well isn't deep enough and even with all kinds of filtration systems our water is awful so we drink bottled water which is not much better
