Dude I'm actually so glad you shared that. I used to think I was so weird for just having random discharge for no reason especially around when I'm about to start my period or when I'm ovulating. So I love hearing when I'm not strange and have the same girl issues as others hahaha
Definitely not alone! It's VERY common. The human body is quite amazing! It's unfortunate that the things that happen with the female body are not suppose to be talked about openly. I'm grateful for people like Channon for helping to open that door and making more people feel comfortable! Oh! A great obgyn TH-camr is Mama Doctor Jones. She puts out some great info on the female body. She recently did a video on discharge too. 😊
Also, if you just rinse them out in cold water while the blood on the pad is still wet, it should completely rinse out, leaving no stain at all. Just cold water.
There's nothing weird about this video. In fact, it was beautiful! I have patients that can't afford sanitary napkins, and would be more than happy to have your used pads.
@@ChannonRose , absolutely! Channon, I have dedicated my 32 year nursing career to normalizing being a woman. You have this incredible gift of talking about "taboo" topics with such beauty and grace! I don't think you truly understand how important it is that you have chosen to use your platform to empower women. Owning a vagina, is not an easy task, your approach to embracing such an amazing part of womanhood, is quite powerful. Ty, for not being afraid to talk about the things that some may find cringe worthy. Your bravery, is not lost on me. Snow, is blessed to have a momma that will give her the proper information to celebrate her womanhood... discharge, blood, and ALL. xoxo
Her business email is in her about section. (TH-cam takes the email comments down). I'm sorry. I hope that helps. Keep up the amazing work you do! Thank you for all of your hard work! ♡♡♡
Could you make a video talking about how to use them compared to regular pads? Like how do you change them out when your in a public place? Thank you 😊 💓
They make PUL (waterproof) pad wrappers. I carry a spare liner and heavy pad, in wrappers in my purse. Go to the restroom, change to new pad, put used pads in the wrapper. I've never had a problem with leaking, though you could just use a small wet /dry bag for extra security.
I know underprivileged people in homeless shelters etc. Really struggle during their period because of how expensive sanitary products are....I'm sure if they are unstained and usable that donating them wouldn't be weird and would help some women out a lot!
I am from South Africa and my family owns grocery stores in underprivileged areas...one of our biggest selling items is wash cloths because of how expensive it is for women to afford sanitary products each month
I love cloth pads I stopped using disposables because I’m allergic to them I been using them for about 7 months and I wish I started sooner I’m no longer having allergic reactions in that area
Hydrogen peroxide can get blood out. I've used it on my carpet when my son had an awful bloody nose and it worked great. Try it on the pads then wash on cold.
Maybe a solution... sew the fabric you don't have any issues with on top of the ones you do. Then you can use them again and not have to worry about wasting them.
I’m very interested and bought a couple off Etsy. I know this is a weird question, but do you wear the pattern side of the non pattern side up? I can see me wearing them completely the wrong way lol
Just curious bc I heard we are suppose to store our sleeping bag out flat and not in its bag bc it could damage the material so It makes me wonder about how I store my pads and maybe I should just leave them open flat on the bag I store them in
It was hearing about the cloth pads I would be interested to see how you make them I don't get on with shop brought pads I end up getting really itchy when wearing them it was so interested I've been thinking about them and giving them ago at first when I heard about them I did think it was weird more I think about it the more it makes sense so thank you Shannon so glad I watch it 😊🤗
For the stains, I feel like bicarb soda would help. I don’t use commercial stain removers either, firstly because of sensitivity, secondly because I remember reading that can reduce absorption of cloth nappies, so I thought same might apply for pads. But our foremothers used bicarb for damn near everything so I think that would apply here too
I absolutely love this video! I’m so happy I’m not alone on the discharge part I thought my body was just weird lol I’ve always wanted to get into cloth pads so if you have any more I’m more than interested! I don’t think it’s weird that it’s used either
I’ve been thinking about trying cloth pads, but don’t want to spend so much if I’m not sure of them. If you donate any of yours, I’d like to try a few. I don’t think it’s weird at all. I’d even pay shipping on them so you don’t have to.
Question, with the bowl covers… when you use Saran Wrap or tin foil it holds in moisture. Just wondering if your food would get all dried out if it’s just a piece of material over it letting air in and out. Super curious cuz I think they’re adorable but could you touch on that please? 🥰
Girl not weird to donate at all! I’ve donated some on my local Facebook no buy group! I also like the Amazon ones a lot just because they do last so long! However they do seem to make me sweat more than handmade ones I know TMI 😂🤷🏼♀️
Thanks for the video I’ve been interesting in trying them out just not sure where to start or how to properly clean them and all that. You should sell them on your Etsy. I’m sure people would be interesting in buying them. Including me of course.
Love cloth pads! I don’t like the cheapies from Amazon though because they are made with terrible material and the style is for light-moderate flows. I noticed you mentioned you didn’t know if you could donate cloth pads. There is an organization in USA that you can donate used and new cloth pads to and they send those cloth pads out in kits for free to those in need to combat period poverty. Thanks for sharing! Such a great stash!
I would struggle, bowl covers look like my shower caps lol. My hubby would totally be like why you covering our food with your shower cap?! 😂 but I like them
I'd rather use clean second hand cloth pads than disposable pads, and I'd definitely rather wear second hand cloth pads than a second hand cloth diaper!! Blood vs baby poop lmao. I definitely don't think it would be a problem, if someone didn't want to buy them I'm sure they just wouldn't
I loved this! Thanks for making this video. I bought a huge lot of used cloth pads (27 to be exact) from a yard sale for $5! I just couldn’t pass it up! I haven’t used them yet because I’m confused on which side to put against me and which side goes against my underwear? I would totally take them to donate to my mom and my boyfriends mom who are still using disposable pads. I know they’d love them. Thanks so much! I’d love to see more about cloth pads. I also saw on cloth tampons on Etsy! Idk about using a cloth tampon lol
There are two ways to tell, usually the side that goes against your body will have stitching on it, not just the edges. Or if you're using handmade, not mass produced, then usually the side with the design/picture goes against you.
Re use them as toilet paper I’ve see a lot of people make their own and they would probably be good for that!! The idea seems so much more sustainable I’m still to scared to make the switch how do you wash them or change them maybe a part two with all the deets!! Lol
Yea I think you could split some of the cloth pads between yourself, your daughter when she starts hers and some for the woman that doesn’t have funds to afford sanitary products. i never thought that these kinds of pads existed
Have you thought about reconstructing the Amazon pads with material that doesn't irritate? I'm also sensitive to some I got on Amazon & considered sewing in a new absorbent material so that I can still use them somehow
Uhhhh sorry but nothing would make my period fun!😝 hahaha Channon, don’t send anyone pads with stains on them, someone could cause you some trouble because of Blood Bourne Pathegons! Just looking out for ya girl. You don’t need any trouble for being nice.
Love watching u babe! I'd love to watch a q and a video on these, definitely interested in them since watching your first video u had mentioned them in. And I think u looked adorable and beautiful in this video fyi! Loads of love 😘❤❤
I gave my old pads to a my sister and she gave them to a shelter that she works with and they loved them I just made a paper to go with them if you send them to me i can give them to her because I did not like the pul on the back
Hey Channon, I'm not sure what would happen if you donated them. I have found often here in Australia you donate something and that place decides whether it's suitable or not. I have donated things in the past to find them in their skip bin a few days later (the items were near new and not damaged.) Have you thought about keeping them for Snow?
I never did try cloth pads. Not a great option when you use coin laundry. And I need pads for bladder leakage. I hate the idea of cloth pads, but I do find regular pads irritating after a few days. Poise or other pads don't have that issue thank goodness. And now that I have in suite laundry, I've had a hysterectomy. So no need for period pads.

Or just a plastic shower cap tbh, it'll last for a long time !
