@@my.way.gaming561 I had no problems whatsoever. The most important thing is to never close the lid when freezing. After whatever you put in the glass container freezes, you can close the lid

Lead and cadmium levels are in the paint & decorative elements of older Pyrex & Corning products. Pre-2000’s should be avoided for consumption use, or search reliable online sites for more specific dates regarding these vintage items.

These are great ideas. I live alone and eat very little, so I always have leftovers; I wanted to freeze them, but NOT use those Ziploc bags anymore, and the beeswax wrap just doesn't work in the freezer. Thanks to your ideas and help, I know I can do it now! I also love the idea of looking on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace for the jars; that way, we don't have to worry about the carbon footprint of shipping all that heavy glass! Thanks!

You are a genius! Thanks to you I finally found the method to freeze meat with cling wrap. The idea came when I saw the frozen fruit, you said to have it on a sheet. Well,I'll do the same with meat. I'll have it on a sheet, first freeze it and then store it into containers. Thank you!! You put and end to a question that was torturing me for months! I know about silicone bags but I can't afford buying anything online,I have to go with what I have.

Hi, I have been searching on how to freeze fish and chicken safely without plastic. Can anyone share on how to freeze with glass containers? From many informations I get, it needs to be airtight, so plastic is mainly used. Previously, I stored my fish in plastic boxes and stacked my fish fillets. In order to not getting them frozen into one, I used plastic sheet between each fish fillet in one container. Now I want to make a shift.

How can I freeze the best meat? I always buy discounted meat and then I freeze them individually because I eat little because of my stomach reduction. Everything is now packed individually in a plastic bag

    • @quittingplastic5125

That's a really good question. I did a LOT of research on "plastic-free" meat after reading that some people purchase meat at their butcher shop without plastic. I discovered that the USDA regulates how meat is to be processed and what packaging it must be packaged in; it MUST be shipped in plastic. Each state has a department of agriculture that further regulates how meat is handled and stored before it gets to your home; I wrote several states; only a few got back to me...short story (though I intend to do a video on this) is that meat is at some point stored in plastic and butchers must use plastic gloves if you provide something other than plastic for them to put the meat in. Personally, I don't eat a lot of meat so that cuts down on freezing. When I went plastic free, I gave up meat because I couldn't buy it without plastic (and I learned that there's a high CO2 cost for meat). Sadly, I started loosing my hair (growing back now) and I thought it was because I wasn't eating any meat (turns out it wasn't) so now we eat meat about twice a month...I had to bite the bullet (or the chicken in this case). When I buy it, I eat it right away. If I have to freeze it, I freeze it in whatever packaging it came in (this is typically plastic). Since attempting to eliminate plastic over a year ago I've learn so much about the environment, health, and all the things we can actually control to be more environmentally friendly beyond just eliminating plastic. I've now settled into the fact that there are some things out of my control and "meat w/plastic" is one of them...the only thing I can do is control how much exposure I have to it...Sorry so much rambling. I hope I answered your question in a round-a-bout way.
