Rabbi, I too entered into the covenant and although circumstances differ in many ways, I have to tell you that your classes always encompass the teachings that my soul yearns for. I have to sometimes listen to your classes multiple times because they are so full of information. Toda for all you give to us. When you shared the story of the Japanese Ruth, touched me so deeply. Bless her and her family and all of Klal Isreal. May we soon be free from chains that bind us in known and unknown ways, and our ears and hearts be attuned to hearing the call from Kol ha Tor.

i hope your local Temple has been accommodating. some of us, Jews are not very accepting if not born into our culture... which is so WEIRD b/c HaShem clearly wants us to love and be accepting... i see cold in hearts much of time :/ -Shalom, i hope all is well (your post is 10 months old)

In nursing school we learned that an action potential which is the electric spark that happens when we have a thought can only happen one at a time but we are switching in nanoseconds

if when I make a choice, the choice has been already made, how does this fit in with the important principle of 'b'chira chofshit', freedom of thought? When does b'chira chofshit happen? Before the first instance of choice or the second?

Like Koke beef? where they treat the animals well, dare I sat kosher? my great uncle would buy a bottle of whiskey and give it to the bull before he slaughtered it, so the animal would be relaxed,,,I know it may sound odd but part of my family traveled the Oregon trail just before the trains were starting to take people all the way through the dangers on the big iron snakes....however they didn't have money for fare or luggage so they ended up in the John Day Vallly, the old whiskey drinking, poker playing womanizer, uncle that had staked out and claimed 10's of thousands of acres in the John Day valley built on taken land, with the homestead act I believe. at 1 time he had claimed over 100,000acres cause it wasn't the lush green Willamette valley, we, well the uncle Judd Pope, gambled, whored and drank away all but 3800acres which we just lost to none of the family could agree so we were forced to sell a 5000 acre horseshoe Vally running South to North..anywayshe would do that for the livestock before slaughter, I guess a hillbilly kosher kinda thing, forgive me, we were always forced to keep our Jewish roots hidden.....thanks for your inspiration and prayers for the Snow family

With all due respect, overlooking personal habits to see the gem inside someone is a blessing from HaShem.
We all have annoying habits whether we are aware of them or not. When you love someone, they have no annoying habits.
      Shalom
