The official 1988 release of Bubble Bobble for Amiga by Software Creations was pretty much a straight conversion of the Atari ST version. It was by no means a bad game (it was actually pretty good), but the choppy 25 Hz refresh rate and limited animation left room for improvement.
Amiga owners knew the machine was capable of delivering a much more arcade-like experience, and now, thanks to the efforts of Pink and Abyss Corporation, we get to enjoy the conversion of Bubble Bobble the machine deserved. Tiny Bobble recreates the classic Bubble Bobble arcade game at a stunning 50 Hz refresh rate - recorded using WinUAE with 1MB A500 config - with additional graphics, music and animation that the official version lacked. The only thing missing from this release is the secret doors on levels 20, 40 and 60, but that's a small price to pay for an otherwise stellar conversion.
What makes the game even more impressive is it was written using Amiga C/C++ Compile, Debug & Profile tool for Visual Studio Code (info here: eab.abime.net/s....

Bubble Bobble for Amiga could've been this. Orhewise, both versions rock, it is just this IS the arcade game perfectly ported!

Best Arcade Port on Amiga.
Nice port! The physics are a tad bit different than the arcade version in the sense that they're more permissive on this version. You will be able to go further moving laterally while falling than on the arcade or the NES versions.

The only downside to this is that the music is still based off of David Whittaker's versions of the music, which suck in my opinion (1)
If Pink could hire me to compose the music, I sure could, and make it sound like the arcade machine (2)

I've played both C64 and the Amiga version. I Love both computers ♥ What really annoyed me with the Amiga version was the lamer music compared with C64.
Also when a level is complete, the dragon(s) should be caught in a bubble, freezed in place on screen as the new level appears and after that, float to their starting positions. C64 nailed this! But that Amiga didn't also annoyed me greatly. And this port .....still hasn't achieved that. And the music ...is still beaten by the C64.

it plays very wrong though. shame it looks good but sound is awful too.
Ikr... The sideways movement when dropping, the yellow candy working halfway what it should, going into tight spots when falling when you normally shouldn't... And so much more
Care to elaborate? You can't just say "something's bad" without outlining what's bad. Bear in mind, this remaster has been built completely from scratch. Had extensive beta testing. Why not outline your concerns?

@@mattymatty8259 so from what I can make out, the way the characters move is wrong, falling is wrong, bub and Bob can’t fall and make the platforms (see third level) even with the shoe. The animation looks great, but the music seems too fast and for an Amiga, sounds terrible. Is that better?

Nope the music is a big turn off. It is not right. Too echoy. No like. Tune doesn't sound right at all. I am very familiar with the arcade original and the NES and C64 versions.

I'm glad it's not the arcade music, because it's HORRIBLE. This one sounds way better while keeping the composition.
