  • Saturday 29th April 2023 saw a very well-organised and exciting event being held to commemorate nearly five decades of service for Britain's oldest domestic electric passenger train in service, the Class 313.
Naturally, this gave me an opportunity to record some sweet 75mph traction motor action - they must have been glowing red at the end! I edited the equalisation slightly in the recording in order to get you to hear the motors as clear as possible.
Listen to this absolute HELLFIRE with your headphones for best listening experience.
I tried recording the traction motors in Coach F (they appeared to be the loudest here compared to the rest of the train).
Apologies for the background talking/noise. As you could imagine, it was very busy, but this was one of the quieter coaches still!
I actually used three separate recordings to weld them together (The first part is leaving Bexhill, with the last part entering Brighton) so I could provide the best sound in a short video.
