It may show page now found, This was in my case as DNS propogation took some hours. I had to further create a subdomain in cpanel first then create a new site in wordpress . Then wait for DNS to propagate.

Yes, they can and you need a setup on your DNS in order to do that. The settings in your subsite should be the domain name and not a subdomain, and the subdomain should be set up as an ALIAS to the domain name in the DNS settings. This way, when you open the subdomain, it'd show as a brand new domain instead. You can check with your hosting provider regarding this setup, it should be easy for them, plus the very setup is free of charge.

Check your cpanel and add wildcard subdomains. Make sure to use the correct document root. Your host should be able to help you (in case he offers Multisite)

So, I attempted this, but the subdomain isn't found. Does not the 'subdomain' need to be created in DNS as well? Just creating a subdomain that points to a URL doesn't mean it exists on the network. The DNS would need to be updated to reflect that I would think.

I have problems with a few plugins in the multisite, one of them I deleted, the other one does not let me in to the dashboard unless I deactivate it in the backend (and I don't see a way to set up the plugin for a multisite) and a few other installed plugins don't work either on a multisite. Could you please make another video about how to change this multisite to once again a normal single site? I would like to have this possibility, when I don't get along with the plugins. Thank you. Some plugins don't work with multisites, in some cases due to the nature of their functionality. Depending on what you may need for your business, you may require different solution.

One thing about Multisite that worries me is if the main site (or in many cases - any site) goes down or is suspended by the host, all sites go down.

Yes, they can and you need a setup on your DNS in order to do that. You missed the most critical part in creating Multiple Sites. You will first need to configure your Subdomain in order for it to function properly.

If you had installed your wordpress after 30 days, it will not allow yout to create subdomains... only sub-diretories.

There are multiple fixes for this on the Internet. Just google it. You need to change a line in the wp-config.php file as well as in the .htaccess
