I still don't like that she kept the boy. That's his mother and he will always be loyal to her no matter good of a life he can have with her. And them having such a bad start would have left a stain on him and since she is not naturally nurturing the care she will give him will be froth with a lot of negative emotions. It would be best to free them and send them away and start new.
Am I the only one who didn’t like how she treated the kid? I mean, probably a translation thing or a culture thing, but Like just cause you adopt a kid doesn’t mean they don’t love their bio mom anymore. Like it’s unfair to make a, what, 12 year old (?) choose like that and then reacting when he can’t just dismiss his bio mom. She’s the adult, he’s the child
This drama started well but the main lead annoyed me and lost interest in the main couple. Gave up in ep 39 😔 Although the set-up is similar to the Story of Ming Lang, Ming was a better character, smarter and showed development and the story was more interesting. Whilst this the female lead was nice but had no actual spark.
I felt the same way; half the time, she felt emotionless to me- like she was just going through the motions. And it got annoyed every time she would say "I know what to do" and then, somehow, ended up in a bigger mess than she was in before. The mother-in-law annoyed me with her endless patience for the concubine who was the dumbest antagonist I've seen in a long time.

Isn't Er Niang Xiao Chang from Wu Mei Niang? She was quite pretty there, what happened? Is it the makeup artist?
She just aged. Wu Mei Niang was shot in 2013 and this was from 2021.
