- India Diamond Hub Panna: पन्ना की किस्मत में तो हीरे लिखे हैं लेकिन यहां रहने वालों की किस्मत ने बस उम्मीद का दामन थाम रखा है. पन्ना की जमीन भले ही बहुत समृद्ध है लेकिन इसकी भूमि पर रहने वाले लोग देश के सबसे गरीब लोगों में से एक हैं. ऐसा हम इसलिए कह रहे हैं क्यूंकि जब आप पन्ना के उन इलाकों में जायेंगे जहाँ मिट्टी में से हीरा निकलता है तो वहां कई लोग आपको कुदाल छन्नी लिए छोटी छोटी खदानों में हीरे तलाशते नज़र आ जायेंगे. . जब हमारी टीम रुंझ नदी के पास सिंहपुर गांव में पहुंची तो मेला नहीं लगा था लेकिन हीरे की तलाश में तेज़ धूप में महिलाएं पुरुष खदानों में काम करते दिखाई दिए. हालांकि ये सरकारी खदान नहीं हैं ये लोग बस रातों रात किस्मत पलटने के इंतज़ार में यहां मेहनत कर रहे हैं. पहले छोटी छोटी खदान बनाई जाती है, गहरे गड्ढे में उतरकर मिट्टी निकली जाती है. इस पूरी प्रक्रिया में काफी मेहनत लगती है और बिना किसी सुरक्षा के मिट्टी के गुबार के बीच काम करने इन लोगों के स्वास्थ्य के लिए भी हानिकारक है.

Even though the land of Panna is very rich, the people living on its land are among the poorest in the country. We are saying this because when you go to those areas of Panna where diamonds come out of the soil, you will see many people searching for diamonds in small mines with hoes and filters. When our team reached Singhpur village near Runj river, there was no fair organized but men and women were seen working in the mines in the hot sun in search of diamonds. Although these are not government mines, these people are just working hard here overnight, waiting for their luck to turn. First a small mine is made and soil is taken out by going into a deep pit. This whole process takes a lot of hard work and working amidst thick mud without any protection is also harmful for the health of these people.
