Sure, we can all laugh, but the derring-do involved in climbing around on those makeshift, rickety float structures was probably 10× greater than whatever spectacular stunt Tom Cruise intensively trained for in his last MI flick. Hell, they were probably all just relieved they didn't plummet to their deaths clambering around on those things.

That is truly amazingly awesome, however, in the 1989 video, where Melba Moore rides the float and sings to the superheroes, at about the minute 30 mark, there's a shot of an all Luke Cage chorus line standing in the street next to the float. If any of the other networks caught those guys actually dancing, that could be a new greatest thing!
