Hello Katherine, thank you for your video it was most informative. But for me like Pauly I am living in a country that doesn’t have an agreement (Thailand).. and again like Pauly am hearing about the 2 year return to Australia..so I think there will be many expats looking forward to you video addressing our situation.. Regards Mark
For me, I believe retirees who struggle to meet their basic needs are the ones who could not accumulate enough money during their active years to meet their needs. Retirement choices determine a lot of things. My wife and I both spent same number of years in the civil service, she invested through a wealth manager and myself through the 401k. We both still earning after our retirement.
Please make a video about retirement in USA. Oz and USA has reciprocal treaty (but is it?). It is a mess and half baked. It is a challange for Aussie ex-pats in USA. It is a Mary go round, push backs and run around as both sides are not in sync about how to apply, where to go, how to prepare documents and keep it private and secure.
Yes Katherine! I have been watching your videos as they are very informative. Could you make some videos on Italy, Spain & Portugal as I am planning to retire soon. I may not eligible for age pension but would like to plan ahead with my finance & preparation for part pension in my later years.
Do I have to be in Australia. For a certain amount of time prior to claiming Australian pension. Also after getting pension do I need to stay in Australia
Hi there. Wondering if you need to be a resident in the country if you apply overseas. Ie could you like in Thailand and ho yo italy on holiday to apply for pension please? Thanks.
How about those people who were born before independence in the former Australian Territory of Papua who were Australian Citizens according to the Australian Citizenship Act of 2007, section 4(1( (b), who never lost their Australian Citizenship are they eligible.
Just wondering if you are travelling overseas before you apply for aged pension (if you retired early to live off savings for example) how long do you need to spend in australia each year before you apply for the pension if you are not in Australia all year but you are in a non agreement country for part of each year please? Trying to avoid the 2 year in Australia pension rule. Thanks in advance
If already residing overseas (thanks Covid 19 and Ozzie severe lockdowns and quarantine) and I have done more than 35 years as i was born in Australia is it 2 year return to and live in Australia or do we just have to apply and wait 2 years? which video do you cover this subject Thanks Greg..................... eg from Thailand
I’m receiving Australian pension has been for 4 years I’m planning moving back to my country of birth in my old age is it possible to continues to receive my pension as my country has not agreement in regard of receiving pension your information will be much help for my decision to make my move Thank you
I am gutted to only just find out that when I reach retirement age I will not be able to apply for the Australian pension, and that's after working and living here for most of my life (40 years). This is just disgraceful! I am moving back to the UK next year at the age of 59, so I will be pensionless in both countries. How on earth does Australia get away with this?????? and what can be done? Funny how China and UK are not on the list, these are probably the two biggest tax payers in Australia!
I am sure you will get a Australian pension, please research more. Only if you have a lot of income or assets you will not get the australian pension. You may also back pay into the uk pension if self employed.
In order to get age pension in Australia one must be 67 years old In England 58years. I'm sure you can get part payment from England. Ask Centrelink what you can do in order for you to get your pension from Australia when you turn 67.
Which country are you thinking to move to and why?
Katherine.. I have been living in Thailand for 4 years now
Uruguay
Leaving OZ because its finished.....
