The developers wrote him so well, I just wish they added some things from his myth into the main story instead because his character and his actions get explained there. His whole arc felt like I was watching a damn movie, the storytelling and cutscenes were IMMACULATE. I love it when characters have so many layers to them, so I'm all in for Caleb.

Wholeheartedly agree. When Sylus was introduced he did some things people were not ok with but as the main story went he did get better. The same can not be said for Caleb, unfortunately
@@Shattered_Fawn I think it’s because Caleb it’s supposed to go in a totally different route than sylus, he is going insane because of a lot of things that have happened to him that we get to see in the myth. Thats why he is progressively getting more unhinged and since his only memory keeping him a bit “normal” is mc, seeing her be scared of him and wanting to ran away from him makes him crack. Honestly he is so interesting 😭. I fold is just getting better and better with their story telling.
i also hope people that want to know more about caleb will read his anecdotes!! lots of good lore and gives some good context to his character
His story is the most interesting to me now, the chill, the thrill from it. I was ready to be disappointed, thinking he was probably just another soft, vanilla male lead, but Infold said no. He is a complex character with layers, which makes him the most captivating now

49:45 I HIGHLY AGREE, Also CALEBS VA IS SUCH AN INCREDIBLE TALENT. In my opinion they are the most expressive and they are able to portray Caleb’s a little too well that whenever I hear Caleb I’m 100% locked in and fully immersed! It’s difficult to show a characters two different sides while maintaining the general impression! Plus he sounds absolutely HOT I CANT.
Compared to the other Characters, EVEN SYLUS, Caleb is the most natural sounding and so immersive!
There are SO MANY TIMES that I lost the immersion because of inconsistencies in other VAs, or when they sound a little too unrealistic and I’m not trying to put them down or anything. it’s my opinion AND I HOPE CALEBS VA STAYS FOR THE LONG RUN NO MATTER WHAT OTHERS SAY.
YES I love his voice acting so much, it’s so clear his VA is very talented at their job. I don’t understand the need to have every character to have a hot daddy mafia boss voice 🥴

he was only holding her face but yeah! Their dynamic is sylus who appears as a red flag but is a green flag, and caleb who appears as a green flag but is a red flag/yandere type

Rewatched it and yeah he’s like, definitely choking her. You can hear her gasping for breath + her heart rate increases and she blacks out (things that happen after almost suffocating)

I really assume that he didn’t get chipped. pretend to be friends with enemies is the best way to protect MC. Or he just simply need the second life no matter what, to back to MC again. so he rely on Ever. I still believe he’s good.
He did get chipped though, but I can't remember where I saw that. His myth, I think?
@@oiln.c.186yup, it was myth. At very end, the prof mentioned how his chip seemed to wipe something specific everytime they went to access it like ‘it was going through a black hole’

the mc observes in the main story prt 2 (when she disguises as the nurse) the fleet members take a drug related to the the chip; so It's at least implied. Or if it's not the chip, I think he was indoctrinated, or both. Obsession is created by anxiety. He's definetly scared of something; either real, or synthesized by fleet propaganda.
and at the end of the main story, the professor refers to Caleb as a "machine", and replacing his biological body. (as revenge for Josephine, who they deem a "traitor")

And he also know about chip, so I don’t think he get chip in his head.
But yeah I do assume that professor will control Caleb eventually via the robotic arm, but this is just a theory or assumption of mine.
Love Caleb & this story line. WENT ON SUCH A ROLLERCOASTER of being happy, disturbed, sad, and relieved. Caleb haters I feel don't have a good grasp of the complexities of his character & trauma. All the other LI have some degree of obsession & manipulation, they're just more low key 🤷
I devoured his story almost in one go, only stopping to pull and go to work lmao Caleb's story is so well written, and he's such a well written character as well, so many emotions: happiness, anger, sadness, relief, hope, frustration~ I hope Infold won't mindlessly and hastily change him with all the hate he's getting, but actually develop his story and character as well as they done so far 🙏🙏don't go easy on us, Infold, keep bringing in good stuff ❤
I just hope Caleb has character development, especially where he recognises what a badass MC is! Like the other LIs have.

(The fountain of Atei) Sylus denied the offer though so I'm sure he will be on our side and maybe even help us. It all started to connect right now.

Also wanted to add my little theory regarding Caleb (for anyone that's interested):
Since he mentioned he would've been 'abandoned' if he didn't join the Farspace Fleet, perhaps they recruited or coerced him into joining before the explosion (with the foreknowledge of it) under the condition that they can take MC's Aether core in her heart, similar to their goal with Kevi... But because Caleb is obsessive and possessive over MC since childhood, he uses this to his advantage and saves her instead of Grandma, which is why he said, 'I couldn't protect both of you'... Because they're adoptive siblings, having Grandma still alive would make their possible relationship seem taboo, so Perhaps he decided to 'ditch' protecting Grandma in order for him and MC to be in a romantic relationship without any familial problems, and didn't let the Fleet investigate her or find her for this long in order to save the Aether core in her heart...
And it is interesting that MC can't remember certain memories with Rafayel (since I believe they've met in the past), even Xavier, or the other MLs, it does make me wonder if MC might also have a chip in her brain that resets her memories???... (Dunno, just speculating)...
For some reason I'm also suspecting Caleb of being a villain because the comment Sylus made when MC accused him of the explosion keeps ringing in my head: "Family?... The people closest to you may be the ones who want to kill you the most." 😳😳
Added: Ice crystals growing on the girl that turned into a 'monster'?... Why the heck does that sound so identical to what happened to Zayne? Possibly getting used as bait for Sylus by Ever (Sylus's Dragon Lore might happen all over again?! 😥)
I think the phrase 'I couldn't protect both of you' refers to when the explosion happened. When MC regained consciousness, she was quite far from the front door and Caleb's necklace was right in front of her, in an immaculate state (when it should not be possible since, you know, its owner who wore it was supposed to be hit with an explosion.) So maybe in that split seconds he decided to help her instead of Grandma, used his evol to shield her from the fire and moved her further. Ever possibly tried to attack them at the time and he offered to become their weapon, bargaining for MC's safety and left her out of involvement. I wish the current batch of Caleb's cards reveal more about that. There are so many questions left unanswered, but hey, it's only the first patch of his appearance as a LI so more will be coming in the future!

Even as I watch this I'm not quite sure if Caleb's a green flag or a red flag😂😂... Even Sylus, as red-flag coded as he is, wasn't THIS suspicious when we first met him, either...

Dude got experimented on since childhood and possibly saw kid MC got killed over and over again to test her Aether core's ability. He also lost in the Deepspace Tunnel for a week (I think), got contaminated by some cosmic radiation and damaged his brain for the rest of his life. Not to mention the recent explosion where he almost die, got a Fullmetal arm which is eating his senses away, and got some mind-controlling chip put into his body. Of course he goes insane.
Sorry for ranting. It's just that for the past two days I saw a lot of posts/threads saying how much they hate or disgusted by Caleb's behaviors, dissing him as an unredeemable yandere who tried to lock MC up. But like, girrrrl, he's literally a broken man (both physically and mentally) trying to protect his most important person in the World, who he considered as his Everything... This is only his debut patch as a LI, people should give him a chance before painting him as a psycho who doesn't care about MC. But what's funny is that after finishing his colonel Myth, MC turned out to be as obsessive as Caleb and I'm living for that s**t lol
I finally finished the main story and most of his myth and cards, so I can come and watch this without spoiling myself 🙏
