I like seeing reviews that are in the same climate as me so I can understand better how it will react with my skin. I just got this today and looking forward to seeing the results. Thank you for this
Glad it was helpful. I totally agree, it's important to hear experience of somebody who lives in similar climate (and has similar skin type too). I'm sure you gonna love it. It's very mild and perfect product to begin with Retinol/tretinoin.
I don't have acne but I do have fine lines and dark spots from using tanning beds. I stopped tanning and started using the 0.2% retinol last week. I'm seeing the typical flaking you get with retinols, which I don't mind since it is doing what I want.
Thank you! my skin is quite average, but condition improved a lot after I started using tretinoin. It replaced me almost all other skincare. :) my routine is always changing, so it's hard to film just one routine.
You contradict what you say. Pat or not? Another is, do you really apply retinol right around the eyes and mouth? I am now confused. All those that you put would easily slide into your eyes while you are asleep.
Hello ma’am from Philippines! I wanna ask if u use moisturizer after putting that retinol? I am hesitant since squalane is a bit oily and I think my face is already moisturize.
You are right. I forgot to mention it in a video. This retinol is quite weak for me, and I do not have any side effects even if I apply it on my eyelids. But I agree that you should not do it, unless you know very well how your skin will react.
I cannot guarantee that it will work for you, as everyone’s skin is different. But in my experience it’s a very mild retinol and it did not give me any strong side effects.
I've always read that it's fine putting it on upper and lower eyelids. It's helped with my eye wrinkles ^_^ I do add niacinamide serum first and then a moisturizer after though, and havent had any negative effects.
Hi. .2 %. But don't put it near your eyes. Start with .2% for a few weeks. Then when you get used to it try .5%. Use at night only and use sunscreen in daytime
Hi! sorry for late reply. As Yvette said, you it's good to start with low % and increase as your skin got used to it. Do not put too close to your eyes or lips. Sometimes the eyelids get get itchy if retiol is too close to them. Just follow your skin, if you feel that it's too tight, itchy and flaking - take a break from retinol and use moisturizing and calming serums/creams instead.
Yes. That’s what I use on my face and neck nightly. It dries my skin out a bit, but I use a thick moisturizing mask the following morning and usually don’t have any issues with my skin throughout the day. I don’t wear makeup however. I’m not sure how the somewhat dryer skin would change a foundation wearer’s routine. My skin is naturally very oily. It doesn’t effect my face oil production. Which I kind of thought was surprising for how oily the product is. I love it though!
Yes, primarily it was used to reduce wrinkles. But it has many other side benefits: it reduce oiliness and as a sequence, you will have less (and smaller) black heads or acne. And it helps to regenerate the skin at fast speed, thus renewing the skin cells and reducing the hyperpigmentation. So, it has many benefits!
You can, if your skin is ok with it. Start every other day, or as often as you comfortable, and if there is no irritation, you can use it daily. I did. This one is quite mild.
I'm not a specialist to advice on that. But from what I see from Ordinary site, it should not be very irritation for the skin, so I would suggest to try alternate them and monitor skin reaction.
I’m not a professional or specialist, but I think the answer is yes, though you should use with caution depends on how strong the azelaic acid or retinol
do you mean as the first step? You can, but then Retinol will have weaker effect on your skin. I usually do it if my skin feels irritated and I want to decrease Retinol strength.
@@TineObina you can. I see a lot of dermatologists advise putting something that will make your skin softer like moisturizer or toner before retinol since softer skin absorbs the retinol better. Some even advise mixing retinol with moisturizer. Though I think toner with active ingredients like The Ordinary Glycolic Acid should not be used with retinol because the combination is too strong for any skin. You should not use retinol with any strong acids like AHA or BHA
Did you try The Ordinary Products? What can you recommend?
Caffiene solution its really work
I'm currently using the 0.2% retinol in squalene. I have active pimples, black heads, and red marks. Hoping this will help though.

Hello could I use the ordinary aha acid before or after applying this retinol?
Hi! No, please do not combine Retinol with AHA. This will irritate the skin.

should it smell like a coconut oil? 1% retinol in squalene
Hey
Will this reduce wrinkles on the forehead?
Im about to finish the bottle of inkey list is the ordinary more effective?
Honestly, I don’t know, because i never tried Inkey list. But overall The Ordinary retinol mentioned here is one of the weakest.

My retinol is whit in colour but urs is red,how can we believe this is original or duplicate mam?
Same plus mine has an oily texture 🤔
The red one is a different the ordinary product. The second product she puts on is the retinol.

Same mine has a clear colour and it smells so bad
The first one she using another product.. she using retinol in the second product
It's that necessary to apply any moisturizer after retinol or any other ordinary product?
important after retinol and always wear sunscreen in the morning
Is good for milia and little bumps?
I cannot say for sure, as i did not use it for this. It helps with skin renewal, so it may help, but it’s very mild, so it may take a very long time.
Great video!
is the 0.5% retinol in squalene good?
I guess it's similar to 0.2% Retinol, just a bit stronger. Personally I did not try it. But I think it's similar.

Which is better to use retinol before niacinamide serum or after?
It depends on your skin sensitivity. In general, if you want retinol to be more effective, it's best to apply it on the naked skin.
The ordinary suggest to use it after niacinamide because niacinamide removes irritation that the retinol may cause.
Can I use retinol 0.2% everyday?
You can, if your skin is ok with it. Start every other day, or as often as you comfortable, and if there is no irritation, you can use it daily. I did. This one is quite mild.

You can, but first use with caution. As the skin around the eyes is more sensitive and thin, it can be easily irritated.
