Semi-Old dinosaurs 🦕 are usually the ones with such issues. Companies are evolving though, and some allow a month or two of out of country remote work. That strikes a balance between freedom and between minimizing headaches for HR and Tax departments. Another reason, which is completely valid, is data residency requirements. If your company is subject to regulations about records having to stay in a specific region or country, then they can't allow their employees to work abroad. It's workable, but it's a cost benefit question to such companies and it will all go down to competition on the finite market skills.
