I agree that baskets/containers, especially in a bottom cabinet, are SUPER for accessing everything on that shelf. Also, seriously consider putting lazy susans on EACH corner cabinet shelf, and the largest ones that will fit. No longer will the only accessible area be tiny area in front of the cabinet door. Lazy susans are a game changer for corner cabinets. Thank you for your videos as I'm always searching for new ideas and approaches to organizing.
Just because a container was originally sold for one purpose, that doesn't mean you can't use it for another purpose. For example, extra produce containers could hold office supplies, tools, or craft materials-or your smaller baking supplies. I repurposed two of my mother's loaf pans to organize my underwear drawer! For baking cupcakes, Google "paper baking cups." You bake directly in them; just set them on a baking sheet. They take up less space and can be discarded when the cupcakes have been eaten; plus you don't need separate cupcake liners. The two-cup screw-top Glad food storage containers fit cupcake cups nicely. Also, if you're getting rid of your pie pans, do you need the piecrust shield? The grating tools and measuring cups could be hung on Command hooks on the back of the cabinet doors. I hung my measuring cups and spoons that way, and it's so much easier to find the one I need now. I wrote the size of the cup on the bottom of each one with a big fat Sharpie to make it even easier!
You need to get long baskets for the bottom cupboards where you can't see what you have in the way back. Put your items into the basket and pull the basket out like a drawer.
I purchased my glass food storage from TJ Maxx. Very reasonable. You really only need enough for three days of leftovers. Then when you are using the last containers you know to have a leftover night or toss out night. Keeps the refrigerator from getting gross.
Hmmmm I vote to keep cupcake pan. 😃. Have you considered switching the new baking cabinet with the coffee, tea, cups cabinet? Seems like making it easier to get cups and drinks in the baking cabinet would be worthwhile since you guys use those several times a day. And the baking pans and supplies in the corner cabinet - some in the back that are less used. Small bins to collect the baking odds n ends. Just an idea. Hugs! Ps I spy with my little eye my name on your to do list! 🤓 How fun! -Em ❤❤❤
I would keep the 2 pie pans( put a few marbles between the two) make it a turntable. The veggie ( green) container put the cupcake cups and like items. Later could be used during summer gatherings.
Hi Karen! Great job. A suggestion for that pack of coffee filters. I put a bit of water on one when i need to protect a bowl or plate of food from splattering in the microwave
I finally switched to glass storage containers, but also didn’t want to spend a fortune either. I found some really great Anchor Hocking ones at our Menards store, and have had them for over a year and they are still in great shape, and are used every day!😊
Hi Karen! I have those corner cabinets too, and started out with my cups and glasses in it. I could never keep it neat, and its just me using everything. So I finally switched my plates and bowls with the cups and glasses, and it works so much better! Have you ever considered putting your coffee and tea things in the cabinet over the coffee pot?
Excellent declutter you really organised so well and it was fantastic you got all the cabinets finished in one go. 👏 Karen, definitely do yourself the favour of buy some glass storage containers. They keep food fresher, they don’t smell like the plastic ones do and are easier to keep clean in your dishwasher, you can see what’s in them more easily; and if you buy the microwave safe ones then the leftovers can be reheated without having to decant the food first thus saving mess. Also, use the green lidded plastic container you don’t need as an extra storage container in the utensils draw, if it’s in good condition.
I’ve been babysitting my 4 year old granddaughter since the first of the year! I did try to declutter some yesterday, but dropped a knife and chipped the white porcelain on my stove. Thank goodness it didn’t break the glass top on the stove. Can’t wait to start resetting the house next week, when she goes back to the babysitter.
Nothing to declutter in my basic little kitchen but did clean my knife drawer that had crumbs in it. Fresh sheet day for me. Going up to high thirties then low forties the next week,
Use one of the plastic containers you paid a lot for instead of buying something new for the drawer :) I do this with some of my tupperwear. I just put the lid that goes with it under it and use the container to organize stuff :)
Agree I use my plastic containers in drawers all over the house to subdivide use them for tool, pens tapes intact anything especially the square or rectangular ones
Yaaay! I got to work along with you again. I put hooks on the inside of one of my cabinet doors for my measuring spoons and the measuring cups. The cups didn't end up working because of the way the handles were made, but the spoons worked out nicely. I used the peel-and-stick hooks and they've worked out well.
I am absolutely loving all the videos you are putting out. Each and everyday I have decided to sort/tidy/declutter/clean something alongside you. Thanks for being my accountability partner. Today it was the fridge. I bought a new organiser, I completely cleaned it out before putting all the shopping away. It feels great. X
For glass door storage there is a kitchen store in the Kittery outlets I like finding clearance items at. Also on Temu there are batter or rechargeable motion lights I bought to put in the bottom kitchen cabinets to help with being able to see in the darkness I’d recommend!
Hi Karen! The big plastic boxes for produce that you put high up in the first cupboard, they are kinda like tupperware/rubbermade to so why not store them in the back in the same cupboard as the other plastic containers. The largest one migh even be a good container for putting all your other tupperware in and they can´t get lost in the back if they are collected in a container. The midsize one can hold all the liners, sprinkle aso for baking. Please don´t get disposable bakingware, it´s so bad for the environment. Instead of the heavy muffin tin that you don´t like buy a lighter. You can use a muffin tin to bake tiny quiches in or use a pyrex, the bread pan or one of the others you put on the same shelf as your breadpan. Same with pies, you can use any of those pans for that to.
Great job. Can tell you are in declutter mode. My thoughts on arranging a kitchen is to put things close to where it is first used. I hate “standing on my head” digging out small frequently used items from lower dark deep cabinets. So I might put baking stuff in bottom cabinets and daily use storage containers in upper shallow cabinets. But it’s a process as you know so keep it up and we’ll keep watching. Darlene in VA.
Hi Karen, great job decluttering! I agree with other commenters about using the expensive plastic to corral things in vs taking up valuable space. You had mentioned hanging up your measuring cups/spoons. Do it. It made such a huge difference in my kitchen drawers. I used command hooks and had to replace some measuring spoons that didn't have a hole for hanging. I found some pretty colorful matching measuring cups and spoons at Ross. I used a white marker to write the measurement on the bottom of the cups (since you hang them with the open part towards the door usually). Even my husband knows were to put them when putting things away!
i went through my kitchen things a few days ago. a few went to trash. a few probation. and 1 i need to get new holder, its rusting, next is a UGH, going through recipe cards. its an emotional one. many are recipes from mom. and im type 2 diet controlled diabetic & cant eat. maybe i will make a collage in a frame & hang on wall.
Everything Looks great Karen, Especially that Baking section and the utensil drawer. You are right it is SO freeing to get rid of that stuff. I need to do the same. I feel like decluttering is a neverending and rewarding process.
Just wondering if you had room on the tubberware shelf for the butter dish, avocado and onion saver domes. Since all of these things would go in the fridge. This was a really great declutter! I am always interested in what others keep and get rid off and why. Like I would have kept the cupcake pan and gotten rid of the egg slicer😊
Good job I agree with others that your underused baking items are taking up valuable space near the sink . You all seem to be a coffee and Tea family with items on higher shelfs which for me as a smaller person means they get lost. Sometimes as I had to recently [kitchen had to be empty for a week ]Then when you put the back I re thought my layout.
Well the mugs are on the lower shelf and I have the KCup storage on the counter in the corner. Under the upper corner cabinet is the lower one where I keep my blender and Vitamix. And when we bake we often use that spot on the counter. Small kitchen, not much counter space so literally everything happens in the same spot! 😃
In a non judgmental way. I noticed you declutter your cupcake pan and pie plates. But you kept cupcake liners and pie guard? Just curious about what other ways you use them. Thank you and you’ve been a great motivation to me. I’m going to tackle my laundry room today. Wish me luck 😅
Hey Karen! That was very satisfying! Great job organizing and decluttering ❤ I noticed you have supplies for cupcakes, but no cupcake tin to bake them in, Lol. Did I miss something? 😊
“Wicked Big” lll! I use to say wicked all the time because I was born in Connecticut but moved to Florida when I was 13 and no one said that here. Now apparently I’m southern because I do say y’all more than I care to admit. 🥴 #floridagirlproblems
The white is calcium not mold. But if in doubt throw it out. They are inexpensive anyway. I replace food storage containers every two years. Tomato products stain, better stored in glass! Three ring binder for instruction books, owners manuals, ecetra. Buy drawer organizers.
Great job! For me, I would just have all the baking together. Avocado and onion keepers don’t make sense to me. I wouldn’t think to look for them with baking stuff. Maybe where the storage containers are because that’s what they’re for? Otherwise get something to contain the baking and everything looks great!
I have glass containers (Am*zon - they were affordable). I love them but the downside: They are heavy. I love the idea of your baking cabinet - but at the end you did put some of the baking stuff back in the drawer? 😅 The kitchen is the area for me where I sometimes regret things I did get rid of. Do any of your children want the bakeware (and etc.) that you are not using? Most of my stuff goes that way and actually that really helps me be willing to declutter it. My Emilys (daughter and daughter in law) each have 4 kids so they are growing into things I am growing out of. We all have Corelle, so I can give them extra items. We all have Farberware classic pots so even when we are done with them one of the others of us might need a handle or lid or something. None of us use plastic storage much beyond some vintage Tupperware but we all have Pyrex storage so we can share them as needed. Pyrex has a huge variety of colors for lids so when one cracks it is easily replaceable. None of us have a dishwasher so we also use Pyrex bowls, the ones that are 50+ years old. I mention some of the specifics because I really appreciate that I don't have to buy new almost ever, besides a new lid or handle or something minor. I have a lot of items that have been in use for many decades and that makes me feel happy. I don't use pampered chef but both Emilys do. I find it sometimes at thrift stores and check with them to see if they need it. One got the PC batter bowl at Christmas and the other got a stoneware baking pan and together I'm not sure they were more than $10. My other kids have different needs for kitchen items so maybe/probably your kids do also. Since I am not really a shopping fan I don't really want to add items to that particular to-do list, haha. I've been trying to pre-plan some storage solutions for my sewing room that my mom and I were working on the last weeks. It is not done! That first big pass is so time consuming though I am seeing glimpses of blue skies. I got myself a DYMO and have had way too much fun printing labels. Some of the comments below mention creative reuse of kitchen items and that reminded me of some Tupperware (the square-rounds, for anyone who knows about such things) and some odd pieces of FireKing I could use in some deep drawers in there. I have done this in a couple other places and it has been perfect. I also like the acrylic I used in the office but what if items I already have could be at least as good? Also, I've got a plan for a tote of kitchen items that are classic and quality that I am putting into the attic. I still have family that would love to welcome them into their kitchen I think. That will help me to pare down. Luckily I don't have a need to over buy at this stage of my life. It is weird fun to know that there are several empty drawers in various rooms of the house. But, I promise that this is not some sort of judgement comment! I watch every video with the idea that I am conversing with a friend and we are both getting some ideas. It is a relief when someone lovingly challenges my sometimes stifling self imposed rules of conduct :)
I store my cupcake liners in a wide mouth mason jar because they stay clean and it fits in the cabinet
Great idea!! 🤩
I bought silicone cupcake cups.
Reusable, and saves money.
I use a basket for plastic containers and water bottles. Works like a drawer easy to slide in and out without everything falling over.
I put cupcake liners in an old tupperware container

I love that you are so real-not buying beautiful containers and making a Pinterest perfect pantry. many of us can't do that!
I can’t either!! ❤️🙌
Use your small canning jars with lids for your teabags! I tear off a label from the box to add to the jar 😊
I replaced my tin cupcake pan with one made of silicone. I’m glad I did😊
That's a great idea!
You need to get long baskets for the bottom cupboards where you can't see what you have in the way back. Put your items into the basket and pull the basket out like a drawer.
You were exciting me showing all those teas! After I had Covid I could no longer stand the taste of coffee, so tea it is! 😊
We definitely have lots of tea!☕️ 🫖
Just a suggestion that I found from Clutterbug -- get command hooks and hang your measuring cups and spoons on the cabinet door.
I’m thinking it might be good to keep a few extra water bottles with the beach stuff. When you have family visiting you’ll have some for them to use.
I enjoy hearing your reasoning behind keeping or decluttering items.
Thanks so much! I always worry it's too much chatter! 😃

Another YT’r I love watching is *The Carla Project* . Love her personality and voice, always has great music, great content.
Yes, I am watching her right now! I love when she helps her sister declutter! 😃
I would keep the 2 pie pans( put a few marbles between the two) make it a turntable.
The veggie ( green) container put the cupcake cups and like items. Later could be used during summer gatherings.
I would keep the expensive produce containers because you use them when your family is all together. Also in summer when produce is abundant. 😊
You are on such a roll! It's a lot to maintain with so many people using the kitchen and 'helping' to put things away.
Thanks, Jenny!! 😃
Hi Karen! Great job. A suggestion for that pack of coffee filters. I put a bit of water on one when i need to protect a bowl or plate of food from splattering in the microwave
Great tip! 😎
Dollar tree long thin container for scissors or just a homemade box.
Great idea, thanks! 😃

Oh no!! 😳
I just reorganized my kitchen last night. Got the urge out of nowhere 😅
We were working together! Kinda...😉🙃
That's A small gravy boat, Missy!!
True!
Wow, you're on fire 🔥 😊 pushing me to do what needs done
Yay!! 🙌
Nothing to declutter in my basic little kitchen but did clean my knife drawer that had crumbs in it. Fresh sheet day for me. Going up to high thirties then low forties the next week,
That's great, Jeanne! I hope I can keep my kitchen decluttered!! 🤞 We are in the 40's today! Things are melting!! 😊
39:46 shows a canning jar w/o a lid.
You found it! Thanks!! 🤣

I was going to say the same thing. Those measuring cups and cupcake liners would fit it that veggie/fruit container😊

Hi Karen, I decluttered my Tupperware drawer today then did regular chores. It does feel good to get a bit of organizing done today! See you tomorrow.
That’s so awesome, Julie! 🙌
You let go of so much! Thank you for showing. Just because it all fits doesn't mean you have to keep it.
So true! 😃
Use your produce containers that you were decluttering and had green on them for measuring cups and spoons.
This is a great idea and I was going to do this and then I saw these containers at Dollar General for $2 each...and I couldn't resist!! 🙃
I used to sell Pampered Chef, too. I have the hardest time getting rid of those items!
Hi Karen, great job decluttering! I agree with other commenters about using the expensive plastic to corral things in vs taking up valuable space. lots of stuff! do You have a fire extinguisher? Flashlight? Batteries? First aid kit? battery operated radio?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, a crank radio!
True…and I priced out disposable ones and they are EXPENSIVE so I think I’ll get a lightweight permanent one. The stone one was too heavy for me!! 😻
I have a Simple Modern and I love it
Hey Karen! That was very satisfying! Great job organizing and decluttering ❤
I noticed you have supplies for cupcakes, but no cupcake tin to bake them in, Lol. Did I miss something? 😊
Yes, I decluttered it!! 😂 I'll have to rethink that but we'll use a disposable one or get a light weight one. The stone one is SO HEAVY!! 💪🏼
@@ThisMainerMom yes, the stone looked very heavy. A light weight one sounds like a great solution. ☺️

I need to do this so bad
Use the container in the cabinet you first decluttered for measuring cups etc….( you kept most containers, but gave away one)
The white is calcium not mold.
But if in doubt throw it out.
They are inexpensive anyway.
I replace food storage containers every two years.
Tomato products stain, better stored in glass!
Three ring binder for instruction books, owners manuals, ecetra.
Buy drawer organizers.

It’s hard to know what to do with something’s continue to ask yourself do I use it do I want to keep it
Good point! 😊
Thanks
Get a Mason jar to put your cupcake liners in
NOt sure if it is mold or not but I know that it gets worse and worse so once it starts I throw them in recycling.
Yes it does!
Do you ever want to use an egg slicer instead of a paring knife. That is big and basically replaceable with a knife.
Oh but it makes such even slices!! 😃
What is the name of your little vacuum?
I got it on TEMU but I learned that you can buy a really cheap small vacuum and it is good enough...except for car vacuums!!
💚
I ask myself "Why don't I use this? Why don't I like this? "It makes it easier to declutter when I know why I should.
I too have a doughter. I was wondering do they call you mom or by your name
Mom to my face, often Karen behind my back for some but not all of them. 🤔
You are soo sweet thank you for responding
But you just got rid of the cupcake baking tray and kept the liners...
Well,my plan was to either use disposable or get a lightweight one. The stone one was too heavy for me.
I think we overthink everything and over talk reasons why to keep/get rid of. I often have a hard time watching these videos because of this.
You are so right!! 🫶
