Cargo planes often fly overnight because it is a time when air traffic is lighter, meaning they can avoid delays and make the most efficient use of their time. Additionally, many airports are less busy at night, making it easier for cargo planes to take off and land. By flying overnight, cargo planes can also ensure that their deliveries arrive at their destination as early as possible in the morning, allowing for quicker and smoother distribution of goods.
As someone who lives near UPS Worldport (or just Louisville int'l), it's insane hearing/seeing these planes fly overhead. Seeing parallel landings is amazing. Loud but fun seeing the 2 lights then the double engine sounds of the 2 aircraft flying over at once. Especially the loud MD-11's and 747's. You should make a video about UPS Worldport.
Good idea tbh, for example, you ordered a package from Tokyo to your home at Louisville, the plane Will take-off from tokyo in night/afternoon, and arrived at ANC in early morning/morning due timezones, and your package will move to another plane, and then the plane now going to Louisville at night and landing at morning and then you woke up and see your package arrived at your doorstep.
I think its because you order in the day, the shipping company gets the package and delivers it to you overnight. Edit: if you don't get it, lets say you order something at 3:15 PM and the shipping company gets the item you ordered at 5:30 PM and the shipping company delivers it to you at 10:00 PM
Dude shows good German city (Cologne). I like this. By the way, CGN actually is the third-largest cago airport in Germany (and yes, we have quite a few big ones here).
I live near the FedEx SuperHub! (A.K.A Memphis INTL) and I always love hearing the roar of the plane engines when they takeoff or land. I really hear them in the middle of the day which is when KMEM is busiest, with International Cargo Flights land at about 00:00 or 12:00AM. I have woken up to a beautiful 747-400 landing. Such a beauty to see it. I love watching flights land and takeoff everyday. OMG EDIT YOU FETURED MEMPHIS NO ONE EVER TALKS ABOUT IT THANK YOU SO MUCH ICE!!!
I live on a flight path in St. John's NL Canada, and cargo jets usually come in around 6:45 am. Very high pitched screech as they prepare to land. Flying very low.
@@lando2011 I doubt that, they only airline that flies to North Korea is Air Koryo, which can be barely seen on FR24 (Flightradar24). If you think about this, North Korea is like a copy of the USSR in the 40s-50s: Same rules for citizens, same ideology, same dictator kinda leadership, isolated just like the USSR was, trying to prove self sufficiency and produce everything without the help of western countries.

This same think applies for cargo trains, trucks (in europe you will see lot of turcks in night(
Edit: spelling
atlas air isnt a cargo airline at all, it operates some charter flights with 744s or 767s

Ooh cool 😎! Nice video
Most cargo flights are scheduled at night, the passenger flights take most of the day time slots.
Thats why all the cargo 767 and 757 fly at night over my house
Memphis is literally a beehive but for fedex
Cargo flights pretty much is very important to all industries
Hey, those same day diliveries gotta come sooner rather than later.
i was lucky enough to see a md-11 today at yyc, but i had to see it on the ground cause it was leaving at 5 am lol
That's why you also see cargo truck during the night a lot more than during the day
Simply cuz of non existence traffic
1:09 shows passenger plane. Oops forgot to cut that out
