I'll tell this. I grew up in a remote region of Western Poland. I swear there was a massive fish or some creature in that water that was conscious enough to attack the line, bite it clean through and then it would finally go for the live bait. Be wary of what lives beneath the surface, you never know.
I'm very scared about what is in the oceans, lakes,etc.... but wow! Those fish are HUGE!!!
When people said that the sturgeon was a dinosaur, I think they meant that it's a species that's remained relatively unchanged for millions of years. I don't think they meant that this particular specimen was a really old individual.

My heaviest fish was an 18 and a half pound lake trout from Lake Michigan.

My grandpa was in the newspaper a few times for catching some huge catfish in the Salton Sea, Lake Murray, and Santee Lakes.

It is heartbreaking that hurricane Ian destroyed the island but it is still beautiful. You don’t feel like you are in the US. Think about traveling there to help their tourism again.

okay seeing this, i remember a day when i was 7 years old, we went swimming on a lake in Italy South Tirol. (Wolfsgruber See) over Bolzano. a pretty little lake.
i remember beeing in the middle of the lake on a plattform, with like 10-15 people and my dad and cousin, we sat there watching around, and at one point a fish jumped like 20 meters away from us, my dad was diving for 3 years at the time, and he dove with sharks at least 2 times, when he told me that this fish was bigger than any shark he dove with, i was stuned and nobody got me back in that water. they had to get a lil boat to bring me back... now 20 years later i still never went back to that lake, because damn i was scared for life knowing we swam there.
now i know that 1 person has catched that fish in the last 20 years, and it was a sturgeon with a lengh of over 3.80 meters. i was speechless ngl and cant imagine what the biggest sturgeon ever cought looked like, because well nowadays many died because people haunt them down...

I have a 14.5 pound large mouth bass mounted on the wall. It was a cold day in November. I was fishing in a small farm pond in Oklahoma. I was there fishing for crappie with 6 pound test and minnows. I hooked the hog, and it just came right to me. No fight at all. One of the craziest catches yet hah I have some trout stories growing up in Montana as well. Also did some commercial salmon fishing in Alaska.

We caught and released a 12 foot sturgeon on the Columbia River in Oregon. On one run the fish jumped completely out of the water. The boat we were in has markings on the side that helped us determine its length. We estimated 500 to 550 pounds. The open mouth was 8 inches across.

In sorry to say but number #12 is a Sturgeon Shark. They get over 25 feet long and live to be around 80-100 years old. They are found everywhere around the world 🌎they honey Ostraderms similar to the sensors on alligator /turtles/crocodile 🐊

My wife and I caught a king salmon that beat Anderson record. Caught in clam gulch in the inlet before the Kenia and Kasilof rivers. I have photo to prove it. Never wanted the spot light.
the best thing about going fishing is putting the big ones back to make better records that's how it works if you kill them they cant get big enough to make a record and that's stupid

Lived in S. Florida. The last fish you called a Mahi Mahi we called it a Dolphin. Dolphin is a fish not a mammal like a porpoise. Seems everyone gets them confused. Dolphin are quite beautiful and one of the best tasting fish around.

Rocky was a left paw, not a righty.
Im Saskatchewan in Canada. Its 2 provinces to the east of British Columbia where that sturgeon was caught. There are lakes out there that have sturgeon MUCH larger than the one in BC. I THINK I've seen one. This fuckin fish was HUGE. It rolled and snapped down on a duck. That duck never came back up. I thought the duck dove in for some food... it was the food. It was either that or a colossal pike.
