I know that not everyone can afford the price tag of RH pieces… trust me, I went almost 30 years before investing into nice furniture. I can’t believe you got fired for this video! It brings attention to the company, so likely would still bring more business, not less. The dupes don’t look the same, so those with the funds will still buy from RH. I love that you are taking this as an opportunity to go full-time, and looking at the glass half full. 🤗
Imagine you own a company, you hire people to sell your products, and these sales people start to suggest to your potential customers dupes from the competition.
@@nerios.v your story made me think of the Christmas movie Miracle on 34th Street. 😂 Santa was doing just that. They got mad at him until they realized that people appreciated it so much that their sales actually were increasing rather than decreasing.
You do have a good point as to why management would see it like that, but that viewpoint is definitely constricting and prevents growth through potential collaborations. Our world could use less competition and more collaboration.
@@aqueen13 The thing is, RH is a high end luxury brand, they don't need collaborations for lower tier priced products, the whole goal is not just the look and feel but the brand itself, is like buying a Channel bag vs buying a bag that looks like Channel, that's why the conflict of interest is higher.
@@nerios.v You are right. The management has every right to see it that way. I just disagree with their view.
I personally couldn’t use the duped Chanel bags as a comparison because those look the same. Most of her dupes looked way different, just with the same function. People with the funds would buy the higher quality over the dupes anyway too (and that’s their target market). The more I learn about human psychology and business, the more I feel like all entrepreneurs and businesses need to let go of the competitive attitude. There is plenty of business for everyone if we all hone in on our unique clientele and niches.
@@nerios.v @aqueen13 I agree with you both. People who are going to shop at RH for their home are going to do so regardless if there is a dupe, especially if they are homeowners. I just purchased a sofa from RH that I have been eyeing for a few years. If a dupe existed, I would still purchase the RH one. But I do appreciate dupes for other items. I also understand where RH is coming from. As an employee, it seems to be driving business away from them. The best influencers, in my opinion, are not tied to any one company or product. That always skews their objectivity.

Girl I hear you .. trust me, it always hasn't been like this for me. Most of my early years was hand-me-downs and mix match furniture. I know RH is expensive and not for everyone. Totally get that! You can still make your space look stunning with a smaller price tag items. I can only imagine how stunning your home is, and because it sounds like you take pride in your home.... To achieve a taller height for the online tree fill the planter with something sturdy enough to uphold the tree & add moss at the top of the planter to hide the base
That's a great suggestion!!!!!!!!
I use mulch in empty pots. It adds height and weight and you can nestle the small pot of the olive tree or other plant in it, it will add stability to an otherwise top heavy tree. Then you can continue to top off with more mulch, river rocks, or moss to further conceal the pot. I personally like to use large rocks for all my big pots, was never a fan of moss. It's cleaner and classier. The white or black river rocks sell for ten dollars a large bag at Home Depot.

Wow! Hannah what a nice Video, so informative, really like the sideboard, and as I watching they changed the price to $1499.99, ironically of the situation. But Thank you for all the information since we all love RH, but sometimes it's a little pricey. Love love this, thank you for your time and efforts.

How funny... hey, not gonna be mad with a lower price! ;) Yes, RH is pricey and it's taken me a very long time to even be able to afford their items (employment helps too).... but would rather save my money and invest in good pieces than wasting money on something ill have to replace in a couple years.

So happy to have stumbled upon your channel...see, sometimes TH-cam gets it right with their recommendations! Love your style! Anyway this video is amazing and I’m sure took a lot of work so thank you. I’m wondering 2 things:
-what winds up at RH outlets? So curious if it’s always things that nobody likes (so they don’t sell at the stores) or if it’s more returns from custom orders that didn’t fit etc??
-been eyeing those dining chairs but I’ve seen people with them post pics where they look super disheveled and wrinkled so that striking, tight look is totally lost. I have skirted white slipcovered parsons chairs that I’d like to update but I’d hate to see those chairs wear poorly. TIA 🤗

1. Items that wind up at outlets are 100% random. It's a mixture of online canceled orders, customer returns, or discontinued items. Every outlet differs in product and most outlets get shipment 2-4x a week (depending on their stores volume).
2. With the chairs..... you might be referring to the skirted option? The skirted Elison chair can defiantly have a wrinkled appearance and it's not weighted down by anything but free-flowing at the bottom. I have yet to have any wrinkle issue with mine (non-skirted). I also am not sitting in them 24-7 which might also be why.

If one can afford RH merchandise, and if it is important to them to have the genuine item, by all means BUY RH. The majority of people can't afford it and there is nothing bad about living within one's means. Dupes are great.

I did my best to find the best quality dupes I could for my pieces. I know the prices are still steep for some and that's ok. As I've learned over the years ... I would rather save my money and invest in certain quality pieces and go cheaper on other areas (decor, curtains, accessories etc.) That way it all balances out! I appreciate the focus on quality I never buy online because I’m not willing to deal with the return process if something is low quantity which the reviews a lot times will tell you.
