The composer shares the following note about her work:
Three Pieces for String Quartet explores different types of time perception. What interests me is that, our consciousness often draws a timing process. However, none of us are a witness of time but a witness of moment.
In the first movement, the constant rhythmic grooves freezes one moment in time. The second movement draws the heartbeat rate of the human body into the tempo. Ideas may be heard from the first movement and the second movement, reappears in the third movement in a different context, and it stretches out a moment.
