- Gone But Not Forgotten is our look back into FDNY buildings that are no longer firehouses. Come along with us as we give you a quick history of disbanded FDNY companies and visit their old quarters and see what the building is today. In this episode we cover lower Manhattan. We visit the old quarters of Engines 31, 27, 29 and 13. Tons of great history from Chief Steve Kubler and the boys. Chief Steve is currently a 40 year member of the FDNY.

My Dad started in 31 engine 1960...he survived the grand st fire *..as a probie..I joined FDNY in 85..Engine co 7

Nice job fellas. Before I was a firefighter in the FDNY I was a cop in TriBeCa, Soho area. I must have passed these buildings hundreds of times in the early 90s before the real estate boom. Who knew. A lot of history here not to mention Ladder 8 ( Ghostbusters) right up the block across from 1st Police Pct.
We need more of these. Love the old houses.

I was lucky to run into Paul Hashagen at a FF museum in AZ. He gave a speech and was promoting his book on FDNY R-1. He was kind enough to snap a photo, and I bought the book.
