I’m completely addicted to this specific performance . Paul is living the best moment of his career in my opinion . The Most passionate performance of him . His singing directly from the heart .
Joy Stinson Dude , I just can’t believe you were there . That might be one of the greatest experiences of your life . The high pitch of this song is unbelievable, I just can’t believe how much good Paul’s range is . This whole concert btw , it’s my personally bible . I love the Beatles from the bottom of my heart , everything , but there you can see Paul shining vocally , “ lightly “, too much passionate , singing besides the love of his life next to him and excellent musicians . Congratulations by have passed through this amazing experience in your life .
There will never ever be another Paul McCartney!!!! We should rejoice everyday he’s in this world because everyone leaves eventually . Rockin vocals OMG!!!
At 3:46, he sings "I called your name (whispers "John") every night since then" you see, this song was written to the love of his life, John Lennon! How touching. How sad that soon after this performance, John died.
You can notice in the beginning of the album version that instead of “Joy” Paul sings “John”. Also in some live versions of this (including Wings Over America) in the part where he sings “I’ve heard you name” he adds quietly “John”. This song was written while he was in LA with John in the “Lost Weekend” he played the song for him and they were going to duet it but Yoko got in the way and asked John to come back to her so it never happened
Yes, he’s saying JOHN. In other recordings of it I have heard Paul sing “I’ve called your name, child” but here it’s “I've called your name, John”, right there at 3:44, he's not really whispering, it's just a quiet part of the phrase, and it can be heard even more clearly by playing with the equaliser to bring up his voice. The Wings Over America version is different, though he sings an altered lyric, elsewhere, in that too. Why would it be in any way odd for Paul to write a song on the theme Call Me Back Again inspired by his beloved friend who he played music with since they were boys and who was notorious for never calling people but waiting to be called, and then having Yoko sometimes screen his calls so he was sometimes unreachable? Particularly when Paul's recording it at the February 1975 New Orleans sessions that he had had expected John to join him at, as he had accepted Paul's invitation and then at the last minute didn't go? And that being so, why would it be riDicUloUS for him to actually drop John's name in sometimes when he was singing it back when John was alive? Eight Arms To Hold You lists this Rockshow filming for Call Me Back Again as done at Los Angeles, California on June 23 1976. Sean would have been 9 months old then, a couple of months after John started his 1976-1979 period as a recluse. John wasn't killed until 1980.
i keep coming back to this performance so i figure i'll comment. im 23, ive known of the beatles basically my whole life, but recently started hyperfixating on them. im fascinated with john and paul's relationship and mourn the loss of it every day as if i knew them personally 💀 i think ab john every time i listen to this one; even if he didnt do it consciously, this song is most definitely about john.
One of my absolute very favorite Wings songs! I was there June 10, 1976, Seattle Kingdome. To this very day, it's the best concert I've ever attended! Wings absolutely rocked the house!
Paul called, cz he and John were suppose to meet in New Orleans in 75, I think. Paul recorded an album there. I called your name, John... his twin, I still can be true to you...
Bloody hell he dont get enough credit for his singing!! Him and Lennon were the best singers and i realise now its there singing that was a major part like george martin said people dont realise how loud and energetic they sang. Watch this in tandem with lennon in new york live and you will seeno one could compare! They had been doing it since kids!14 and 16
I think it’s for Johnny.

This is the greatest ever vocal performance. EVER!
feel the same, this concert is pure magic.
I think you’re right. He hit his peak as a singer in 76 era. Great band too

Arguably one of the best pop voices of our time! The rasp, range, tone, soul, control, depth and power is unlike anyone else! Thank you Paul.

I heard this when it was new and liked it. I never thought 40 years later I would think it is one of the best things I have ever heard.
My favourite live performance ever.
Paul is the best musician ever.

GENIAL
This is Paul doing a John Lennon impression. And it is almost perfect.
No, I think it's Paul McCartney doing Paul McCartney perfectly.
About Lennon ?
