Fantastic information and to the point had me in laughing "should have come with a head gasket on a keyring"

lining the holes up will probably mean more when there's an engine in bits in front of you but from the, er, enthusiastic, camera movements it's kind of hard to see. Interesting to see a VVC mech in bits & hopefully I'll never have to do my head gasket as it's been replaced with a proper one. But if I do, I'll know where to come for useful info.

Hi, the plunger wont come out until you get the advance units in a free state. Hope this helps. Call if you need any help.

@@halemotors4084 Firstly, thanks for the swift reply!....by "free state" do you mean the cam lobes shouldn't be pressing on the valves?? If so, I've positioned both inlet cams where they're facing upwards( by removing rear timing belt) but still no luck!....I can see the control shaft turn a few degrees when trying to pull the plunger out, totally out of ideas hoping you can shine some light on this one, thanks again!!

@@DonDon-ee1uf Hello again, its been a while since ive had one in bits,im pretty sure if the control shaft reaches its limit on the vvti units it wont travel any more causing the plunger to stop at a certain point. i will try and grab one so i can check and give you more info.

@@halemotors4084 thanks for the reply, it looks as though one of the vvc mechanisms has jammed internally! Is this possible?

@@DonDon-ee1uf Yes anything is possible, you can see the Gear at the edge of the VVt unit where the control rod operates.
