I recently set up kw cages fory 36 rabbits, amd i dug a similar hole for the waste. I also added a sump pump, but ot keeps getting clogged from the fur. This stuff relaly smells bad so i need to get it piped or fremch drained far away. Nice setup BTW!
@@pdornai definitely put a 1/8 in screen over top of the sump so that your manure can dry out and can be vacuumed up dry, that will also alleviate the hair from building up in the water. Some of it will go through the screen but any clumps will stop and can be vacuumed away
I don't know if it matters to you but if you ever need to clean the plastic dump some cheap white vinegar on it. Gets the stains out within a few minutes. Used it when ever I've had to keep rabbits in dog cages for what ever reason. Trays as good as new afterwards.
Hi, just want to say that this is a brilliant idea. I want to replicate it. Tried to look for the plastic sheets. What material do you use for the gutters? I really love your idea. Brilliant!!!. Trying to manage my rabbitry waste to keep it clean. I will copy your idea. Just need to find materials. Where did you get your materials to contain the poop under the cages?
No, just pellets, will be feeding fodder too. The waste troughs are wide enough to accommodate hay waste though. Easy enough to pick out of the screen at the end of the run too
You're going to laugh, it's political signs material 😁. Well, the white plastic is, the black trays are ABS sheets. I just switched to abs, its sleeker and more durable than the plastic cardboard.

Bunny brothel! This system reminds me of what myshire farms does with their quail.
Don't they make jewelry with their quail poop too?

I form the troughs out of 1/8-in black abs. You can make them out of political sign material though
Do you feed your rabbits hay? If so how do you not get any hay dropping through

What are you using for the flat plastic? Is that roofing panels?
