Well your comment is 4 years old so I dunno if you'll ever see this, but this isn't Celtic music. This is closer to Appalachian or American folk music. But yes it is explosive in it's own way :)
It's appalachian folk music, (which itself is heavily based on the celtic musical traditions of the people who settled in the area)

Depending on if your going off her older stuff or her newer stuff. If it's the older stuff I'd definitely look into The Wailin Jennys (All around similarities), The Steel Wheels (music sounding similarity), Brown Bird (haunting similarity), Nora Jane Struthers/Bearfoot (All around similarity) The Greencards (All around similarity), Nickel Creek, The Civil Wars, Cherryholmes (kinda), Tracy Grammer.
