I love when youtubers take the time to truly go through every step of a process like this. Though I have been modding games for quite a while, I'm going to leave a comment strictly to help this video's numbers a bit more and encourage this kind of breakdown for other content creators.
Thanks so much! I'm right there with you. Nothing is worse than a tutorial that isn't really a tutorial cause some major shit gets skipped over under the assumption that the viewer already knows something
I'm so glad you're making this video, when the game first came out I remember modding everything manually and it being a bit frustrating. now it's been a while and I want to use the new mods but I was messing up with the setup. Thank you so much.
@@PolybiusStreams hey there, the AWML tool has an option to unpack any .lzs file, this wasn't possible in the older mod scene, but it is now! to use older mods, youll just have to unpack them on your own and set them up to be the correct folder structure, if you need help doing so for any of the older mods, folks in the discord can help you with that!
My girlfriend wanted to mod this game, but I could not be there physically to help her so I found this video. You did an amazing job explaining things for people that have little to no experience with modding. Incredible job!
Thank you for this! I initially got AWL on Siwtch, but I wanted to pick it up on Steam to try out some mods to kill time in the pending long Minnesota winter! Saving this for reference!!!
Thankyou so much for the video! This is a Wonderful resource for the modding community and will be so helpful for folks :D I appreciate all the love and attention you've shown to this community and game!
I would love to see you do the 100% completions of the Rune Factory series too there may be more meltdowns in that though since there is generally alot more to do in them lol still love the videos man keep up the good work!
@JackDuckGoose It depends many fans of the series will have different answers but some of the standouts from the 2D era would be Rune Factory 3 Special, Rune Factory 4 Special, but then in the 3D Territory your have Rune Factory Frontier, and Rune Factory Tides of Destiny. Personally I love 4 special but its a tossup between that and Tides of Destiny. 4 special arguably has the better story but ToD has a pretty engaging gameplay loop and pretty fun combat/dungeon exploration with some automation for crops. All that being said I would say 3 Special and 4 Special are closer to a harvest moon experience with just a bit more to do than manage relationships and your farm, where as ToD leans more into the RPG side of things
Since you love Harvest Moon and their Story of Seasons remake, you should do a run through where you play as if it's a generation's run. Go through every, or most since I don't know how many games in this franchise there is, and play them like every new game is played by a new generation. I believe that in every game you have a child, so that makes playing the game with "generations" to work really well. Since AWL is your favorite game and your child actually grows up to an adult, you can start with AWL and then remake your child fir the main character in the next game of your choosing. Since some games are cannon for being in the same world, you can start it with those games and then continue the cycle. It's an idea that I think you might like for game play wise.
I just watched your video about the history of Story of Seasons and Harvest Moon, and I'm here to update this daunting idea. Pick your 10 favorite games and do a "10 generations" challenge. I believe that you will have a lot of fun with idea should you do it. Again, this is for fun. If you make videos on it, I will 100% watch every one you make. I hope this idea isn't too daunting anymore
I'm pretty sure it has, but I don't know why lol. Maybe it's easier to mod than the others or the modding community is nostalgia blind just like me lol
@@JackDuckGoose definitely the latter lmao this game has been one of the hardest games to mod I've ever tried, everything about it seems to have been built with an anti-mod stance in mind password protected discs, zipped in files with unique encryption, file formats that no other games use etc but I've been wanting to mod this game since the gamecube days, even helped out with A Proud Life mod back in the day pure stubborn determination to figure it out and being lucky this game had a couple odd programming quirks saved the day that this game has a mod manager that's actually somewhat sane to use is WILD.
Since Marvelous is affiliated with Nintendo, I doubt they look too highly on the modding scene like Bethesda does. It would be dope for sure, but I wouldn't get my hopes up lol
Hmmm. I looked into that and those mods shouldn't conflict, meaning you would be able to run them at the same time. If the Mod loader says that they aren't structured correctly, it's possible that you added the Mod packages parent folders into the awml_mods folder. From what I can tell, the folder structure should look like this: SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\STORY OF SEASONS A wonderful life\awml_mods and then you should put these folders ("Do You Mine-d" & "Marry Flora Modpack") you would've download in the awml_mods folder. Right now, my best guess is that you extracted a parent folder into the awml_mods folder. For example, you put "Marry Flora Mod Manager Pack" into the awml_mods folder instead of the "Marry Flora Modpack" folder. OR you didn't extract the contents of the download at all, and just put that into the awml_mods folder. If you want, you could join the discord and message me directly with pictures and I can try to help you out!
Actually i figured out the mods! It's just when I use it I can't save anything. My saves immediately delete.. Which I tried to do the windows+R it still doesn't work! I'm very confused why because I already have the save data
That's very strange. I've never encountered that. My only real recommendation would be to use the steam backup feature and completely uninstall the game and delete all the files like I did in the video. If you have done that already, than I'm at a loss
Does anyone know how to apply mods to A Wonderful Life on Switch? Apparently you can use the Wonderful Modded Life program but I have no clue how to use it haha. ; w ;

oh definately!! Thank you for going thorough with downloading this mod!!
Flora should have been a marriage candidate in the vanilla game since they made Gordy a candidate.
Oh absolutely! Flora is adorable and she is a marriage candidate in a later game. I wonder if it was a time issue?
@@mostlyghostey even if they added it as like a $5-$10 dlc I would definitely get it
Who knows why they did or didn't add her, but at least having the option with mods is nice lol

That is most definitely an interesting concept. I'll write it down and make sure to keep that in mind lol

It's really worth modding the game just for the pets lol

What if you don't have any save data yet because all you did was buy the game on Steam?
Then you’ll be fine!
I'm suddenly jealous I bought AWL on switch. Great for portability, but I would love to also have mod support.
I would buy you a steam deck if I could lol
It said not structured properly and ended up glitching my game 😭 I wonder what's up with that
What mod were you trying to install? It could be that it isn’t packaged correctly by the mod maker OR it hasn’t been updated
I downloaded the flora mod and the do you mine? Mod 😭 I just wanted to marry flora in the game
