You're such a super English Teacher! I am the one who is struggling from Ethiopia to speak American English. We learned British English not American English in school. I hope your video will help me🇪🇹
Thks for sharing useful lesson to us Your lesson always excellent for the students all over the world who wanted to study English I always appreciate yr effort for doing this
The United States has a number of accents, depending on which region you are in. The East Coast and the West Coast are as different as Texas is from Arkansas, unless you are in Texarkana, where they have their own dialect, merging the two together.
Thanks. When i was still in the US, someone suggested these rules you just did and told me my English could be much better if I kept them. Thank you for reminding!
I was waiting for this .. The glottal stop is so difficult for me I'm practicing it but still not good specially the word "Sentence" I'm still struggling with this word 😮. But I'm getting better on other words. I'm learning English and I want to improve my accent as well. I really like this video. So relatable 👍.
Hi, Wes! Happy Fri(yay)! Geez, I thought this week would never end. So glad the weekend is just around the corner. Hope that all is well with you and your loved ones. I just wanted to say that I loved this video ans found it immensely useful, especially for people like me who want to emulate the American English accent. I couldn't agree with you more, though, that what really matters, at the end of the day, is that person A and person B understand each other - period. But, for me, trying to immitate the American English accent as closely as I can is an unquenchable personal goal. And your great videos help us get there hands down. Again, thanks so much for this very helpful video, and I hope you have a fantastic day and a wonderful weekend. All the best!
One of the best American Accent videos i`ve ever seen. What a great job! Thank you so much! I am really grateful to have found your channel. With the visuals and your voice it makes it even better to practice with! Again thank you very much! Your`e awesome!
I'm a teacher of English and I absolutely love your videos. They help me a lot! and your accent is fantastic, perfectly understandable and really sweet. Lots of love from Siberia ❤ (yeah people actually live here and study English as it's a compulsory subject at schools. And no bears in the streets, believe me😂)
This lesson is very important for listening 🎧, but for speaking 🗣️ is a bit difficult. To my opinion, speaking understood language to my listeners is a wonderful thing... Teacher Wes thank you so much 😊!
It's difficult to say voter without making it sound like water for me. Also, writer and rider sounds exactly the same, it got me confused for a second :) The glottal t, I can't pronounce it, especially when there are two t's as in the words like kitten, bitten, gotten. But I've no problem pronouncing words like center, twenty, interview etc. Thank you for the video, it helped me practice my pronunciation. And the last bit was quite fun!
Currently, I run a speaking course and the next one starts in September. For more information, you can check out the course page (bit.ly/Join_Speak_Up) and if interested in a private course email me at info(at)interactiveenglishvideos.com 👍
Teacher plz l wanna ask you a question. Should l learn britisch or american accent or both like the pronunciation of words l get so distrubuted when l read it ?
Wes if everybody spoke as you do, english would be super easy to understand , but they don't do effort to speak clearly, they speak like a drunk person and we need to have divine ears to understand them.
This is how a natural teacher looks and sounds like! 🤗 Bravo!

What's the difference between can't and can?
There's a slight difference. Can't is going to end with a glottal T and sound is coming from your throat. 👍
