DIY 30V 10A HALF BRIDGE SMPS WITH SG3525 IR2110

  • Hello guys KD here. Today i have made a very powerful smps with very popular ic SG3525. i have used a mosfet driver ic IR2110. The smps has feedback system so you can also adjust the output voltage according to your requirement. I have used a current transformer (CT) for short circuit protection. The sensitivity can also be changed with a variable resistor. I have used 10N60 mosfet which can easily give a output power of around 400W. It also has a auxiliary power supply so you can also add a external 12v fan to it. I have used EE42 ferrite transformer which can easily handle this much power. All the details related to this circuit is given below. If you want to ask anything related to this circuit then feel free to ask in comments or in messenger.

    Hi, I want to ask, can we adjust the voltage and current in this smps circuit? Like adjust with fine and course

      You can set the output voltage only, for current it has over current protection. The circuit is turned off when it reaches the oven current protection limit

    Great video .I was watched some videos and your videos great because you r videos have test sections too.
    My question is about PWM controllers have some protect features (for example over voltage Protection etc)
    how understand pwm controller's in protect mode in not working power supply?
    For example how can make "Troubleshooting board for IC"
    * We can try extarnal power supply voltage for PWM controller
    * We can apply suitable frequency and wave to need IC pin/pins for find problem
    Could you make a video for a famous PWM controller's "How understand PWM controller's protect mode"

      •Yes you can add a over voltage protection circuit too but you have to add a comparator at the output and connect it to the pwn section for shutting down.
      • You can power the pwm circuit externally and check the frequency on the output pins or you can check the voltage, it should be between 3v-5v
      • If you want to check the IC’s then you can power them and check the following things
      1. They are heating or not
      2. Proper voltage on reference voltage pins
      3. Output voltage on the pwn pins

      There is a separate 12V power supply for the control circuit and fan. For short circuit protection, the ic needs a separate power supply to work properly. The auxiliary power supply works even after the output shut downs

    @KD CREATIVITY That PWM controler provides plus and minus, so you don't need driver for mosfets swiitching, you can connect them directlly... Speaking of buzzing, first thing first, take an osiclloscope and check for oscillations: primary winding, secondary winding, feedback cirucitry and output itself, at the output terminals. Generally speaking that sort of problems may be generated by inductors/traformer winding vibration, badly designed grounding traces/faulty capacitors, SMPS overload,, and possibly a few other things that I currently forgot to mention

      @@kdcreativity6201 I use the stps4080 40a 80v diode and I use the ee42 non gap transformer I always have problems with the diode which is always short

    I made one 24v smps with ob2269 ic
    It works fine.
    But it giving hissing noise while no load and lightly loaded condition.
    When i increase load the hissing noice gone.
    What is the problem and is there any solution for this problem?
    Iam using E-I 30mm core
    With 35 primary and 8 secondary turns.

      Thanku very much bro. The reason for that hissing sound is the main transformer. Can you tell me the air gap in the transformer so that i can check your winding data
