People's ignorance about "autotune" really bugs me. It's not autotuned its reverb and distortion to make it sound cleaner. And can I point out the original song uses it just as much and it's obvious. So give this poor guy a bloody break. TH-camr singers stand no chance nowadays with comments like this
Honestly he probably is using pitch correction AND reverb AND distortion and probably more. Not saying he can't sing, cause he definitely can..but dont act like you 100% know what hes using, cause no one knows except him and whoever helped produce the cover.

Great cover and to all the people saying too much Autotune please stop it. It's ignorant. Especially when it's not even autotune. If he was using it its not alot of it. The effect that your hearing in his voice is reverb and a little bit of distortion in the back end. It's like Autotune because of the way he's harmonizing

He is using pitch correction, "autotune" is just slang. He used a lot of it, or very quickly post-produced it, resulting in noticeable problems. It muddles his vibrato, and "pixelates" the transition between notes, causing that "robotic" sound. The distortion is all artificial, and not thru vocal resonance. One should not "harmonize" simply by layering. In short; this song was amateurishly produced.
bobos245 There is alot of things wrong with your comment.First off, Autotune is a overkill form of pitch correction yes but, pitch correction itself is not Autotune. Calling it slang for pitch correction is just ignorant and considering that most people who said it meant it in the "t-pain" fashion makes that comment irrelevant. Second, his voice didn't have that "Pixelated Sound" when transitioning his notes. All you did was describe Autotune and claimed that he was using it. Thirdly, this is a cover....not live cover, not an original song but cover. The idea of a cover is amateur in its own right. However if you compared this to the actual song he is on par with the weeknd. Yes you may have some knowledge of music production but I do it for a living and there is nothing you can say that can make this cover appear amateur.
