You are right about this rod. I have the medium fast baitcaster rod and the medium action spinning rod. I will argue that it isn't an "entry level" rod. More like intermediate. I argue this because I've had some entry level rods when I was new to bass fishing and these daiwa rods are far superior to those in every conceivable way. However these aired x rods do not compare to the more expensive rods that pro bass anglers use for obvious reasons. When it comes to fishing i learned quickly that you get what you pay for in terms of quality.
Totally agree - entry level. IMO, the BEST in the entry level market. And as you said, Money = quality, in terms of fishing. Its fun with entry level equipment but its more enjoyable with the high end gear :)
I bought the spinning version of this rod in 6'6'' to replace my St-Croix Bass X that I broke. I didn't want to spend too much this time and I have to say the rod seems like a very good value.
I just picked one of these up in 7’M and paired it with a Tatula SV TWS. Like you, I got it for bank & wade fishing in ponds and rivers. I really like how it feels and fishes and this combo will probably make its way into the boat as a secondary jerkbait rod. I will probably use it to throw jerkbaits that are a little smaller than the full size 110’s. I really like the parabolic action, even tho they call it “fast”, and it is perfect for keeping fish pinned on treble hook baits.
Got this rod recently for saltwater bay fishing for spotted sand bass and halibut, sensitivity not as good at my tatula rod but can definitely pull a fish out of a rut no problems. Yoinked a few out of grass/rocks no problem. Got it paired with my fuegolt3000dc works like a charm especially for the buck. Has 7 guides total, has the look and feel of a premium rod like the tatula
Honestly it’s a good rod. I just can’t stand the reel seat that is not flush like for example the extra thread lock expose on the twist nut. They should also add more guides too. Those are the reason why I return them. You should look into the 13 fishing defy black gen 2 rod. I like their M casting rod. I honestly think it’s perfect. Their Mh is a little stiff like Shimano rod which is not my liking but I guess I might give it a try one of these days.
Just picked up 2 at $29.99 each. They’re an inferior blank, but the carbon wrap adds some modulus. I suspect, based on the light weight, it’s thin walled. Good looking rod, great price, not great sensitivity, brittle. I think it’s fine for white bass and walleye jigging, but I don’t feel comfortable using this on bass.
Can't wait for mine. Coming Thursday. Just got the daiwa BG reel in 2500. I love it. Granted I've only had cheap spinning reels. But seems to cast a mile in comparison to what I've had before
I got mine about 2 years ago and paired with the Abu Garcia pro max black an gold edition. Easily worth about $110+ this rod is great I got mine on sale paid $45 free shipping.
I have rod and reel combos what are worth upwards in the 1200-1700 canadian range. I'm putting this out there beacuse I now have x4 6' 6" medium casting models of this rod and I'm looking to get a few 7" medium heavy and a hand full of spinning rods. Great rods from what I feel using braid with them. Hopefully this helps someone
do you have any suggestions on where to get this rod? i can't find it in stock anywhere, and it seems like VERY few sites even mention it let alone carry it
G Loomis rods are great quality, but be careful with them. If you ever break one of their rods, good luck getting a replacement from them. It is next to impossible to get them to pick up the phone or respond to an email. I have had much better luck replacing broken rods under warranty from some of the other American rod companies like St. Croix, Phenix and Dobyns.
I purchased a 7’ MH ,2 pc on Amazon. Just tried it for the first time this week dropping approx 20 fathoms with Tatula 100. Great feel fighting fish but not the most sensitive. Would I buy it again? Yes. Watching reviews on TH-cam helped a lot in making my decision to purchase it.
Which model did you purchase? Usually, with lower end rods, they are more parabolic due to not having such a high sensitive blank. The 7ft MH feels more like a medium and a moderate action.
I'm loving mine! I've had it for 8 months with no problems. Decent sensitivity. Caught multiple fish with it. It's a spinning version.

Good choice! Great value for sure
The Aird X was my first baitcaster and I love it. I'm looking at getting a 7' Medium Light spinning one next.
Glad you though the same as I! Definitely BEST bang for the BUCK.

Glad to see a good review on this gem. Not a lot of info on the airdx on TH-cam.
True
Thanks for watching!
Tactical Bassin guys recommended it, that's what got me to try it.

I've been having mine for 3yrs and caught bullreds 40 pound drums and all with it it's a great rod
It definitely is! I still have mine and it’s 6 years old - still in great shape
What size rod did you catch them drum niggas with?

Agreed. Only 8 guides (7+tip). And the real seat is a little weird. I still like it tho.
Just ordered one today. Heavy medium 7 foot. I’m very excited to get it.
Great rod for the money!
@@ChewyThaoFishing already caught my pb with it. nothing crazy but def has been a great rod so far!!

Fun story... I fished the entire 2018 season with this rod and it handled WONDERS. It isn't the best, but it can get the job done.

The BG reel is an awesome reel for its price. It is possibly my fav $100 spinning reel.
You will absolutely love it! It's the exact combo I have (spinning) and I have 15 lb braid to 8 lb fluorocarbon and you feel the bites amazingly.

Definitely!
I fish off a kayak. I have a few expensive rods but the 50 dollar graphite ones work just as well. I don't think I'm buying anymore high dollar rods.
just purchased one at academy today. and now looking at reviews haha. nice review. now I feel pretty good about the buy
Hope you enjoy it!
how has it held up? love mine so far. only have had it a few weeks.
@@oak7746 it's held up well. Still using it. Mainly using it for white bass. But have caught a few smaller stripers
we have a mohawk river here to maybe the same river

What kind of wrap is on it? I wanna put it on a custom surf rod.
thanks for the review sounds like a good rod for the money
Definitely is! Thanks for watching!

in 2 piece, not 1 piece****sorry, Thanks in advance!
Big 5 has them !
Academy has it bought one there today
Have u ever tried Edge rod by gloomis? I was looking into one of those

Would you reccomend the tatula XT over this rod?
Hard to say. Aird x is a great value but the tatula xt is overall better.
Budget river, pond rod. I'll spend $50 and pair with a Tatula SV. Perfect combo.
Great review 👍🏼
Loved mine, but broke the tip in my car door 😢
Do you have any links to purchase this rod online??

Here you go!
2:24 aluminum oxide
Is it a 2 piece
The 6'6" one I just got is a two piece.
This model is a one piece rod.

Davies warranty is trash they force you to send it in person to them. Shipping costs more than a 50$ tod
Yes, Daiwa and Shimano have the worst warranty programs. Kudos to rod companies like St.Croix, G-Loomis and Dobyns for a sweat warranty program.
Rod is stiff asf

Which rod are you talking about 🤨🤨
Does it come in with trim silver?
