Captain Murasa ON PIANO!!
Thank you so much for 10k Subs!! Here's the special video! I play Captain Murasa on Piano, the theme of my absolute favorite Touhou character, while also becoming Murasa. It's, uh...it's a thing.
I arranged this with the idea of taking a relatively straight-forward Stage 4 Boss and turning it into an endgame theme, giving it more flair and overall relevance. And I mean, she totally deserves this treatment :)

And her stage theme. Oh my. UFO and 14, some of the most underrated games in the series. Some of the best casts the series introduced. Murasa's backstory is also one of the best in the series.😭
It makes me sad how overlooked DDC is, especially since it contains some of my favorite tracks and characters. I mean, _Kobito_ is straight up one of the most epic-sounding tracks ZUN has ever made, and _Primordial Beat_ is my personal favorite.
I would actually say UFO is overrated, its REALLY popular

I’ll be real with you chief, I wasn’t a fan of Murasa’s design until they gave her that coat in 17.5 where I now fully call her captain. 10/10 cosplay and same goes for the cover.

Why is Captain Murasa your favorite character? I need to know your thoughts!
Obviously I really like her design and backstory, but the thing is, her theme is probably my favorite to play on piano overall (not my favorite EVER, just my favorite from a piano perspective). In fact, I could literally play this theme for hours and never get bored of it. There's something really addicting about this theme, and it's not particularly difficult, so I never really get tired. As a pianist, she gains the first spot just for this reason alone.
Overall, I feel like the entire atmosphere and (most importantly) gameplay of her stage + boss fight is extremely well done, and one of ZUN's greatest. Initially, Touhou 12 was one of my least played games in the series, but that quickly changed thanks to Murasa. Just talking about her makes me wanna boot up Th12 and mess around with Stage 4. She literally made me appreciate the game more.
(also I love her appearance in 17.5)

This was the first Touhou song I learned on piano and at the time I didn't even know which game/stage it was from (I just happened to stumble on the sheet music for it before anything else). It eventually grew to be one of my favorite songs from the whole series. Awesome to see it getting the representation it deserves :)
Can you hop back to Touhou 15? Simce you played Junko's theme earlier, I think you should try playijg the theme of the character you fight right before Junko! Clownpiece's theme is a strange one, even for Touhou! Pierrot of the Star-spangled Banner is it's name! Good luck and keep it up! You're amazong at the Piano!

Love this song, i always wondered when you'll do it, since Murasa is your Avatar.
You mentioned this was a more final boss-ish cover, but honestly, to me this sounds like what would play for Murasa in another timeline where she was chosen to be incorporated into the cast of Playable Character Aligned Faction Representatives like Sakuya or Reisen. It feels like what would play when you fight Murasa in stage 4 because you picked Sanae.
And hey, far as I'm concerned, saying you covered someone's theme and it made them sound like a main character is some serious praise.

You use synthesia?
I prefer learning the "hard" way, just listening to the theme and trying to arrange it without looking at the notes. There's nothing wrong with using Synthesia of course, but I feel like that alone wouldn't really make you master the piano. Also, when Touhou 19 came out for example, the game was still fresh and there weren't any Synthesia videos, but I obviously still wanted to arrange the pieces. And I did. So, I feel like one shouldn't 100% depend on it.
Most of the time, Synthesia arrangements are done in a very simple manner, while personally I always try to improvise and add some parts that the original doesn't really have :)
Do you know the chords to all your songs?
With some basic "chords knowledge" and various years of experience I feel like I'm able to kinda "guess" what the song is doing and never really have to think about it.
It also helps the fact that ZUN kinda uses similar chords every time and likes to base the themes around those :)
