Double check to see it works before you start your meeting tomorrow. Google updated MEET and removed some features on iPadOS 14.

Hi. Thanks. 👍 If you're not screen sharing then you can use Google Meet on safari instead of the app. Then you'll have access to background blur if your account is eligible. You can't blur background on the iPad if you're using the app. Extensions aren't available on the app.

Hello! Thanks for sharing this very helpful video. I'd like to ask your advice on my particular situation. I teach Piano and I would like to show my music on the screen for the student, and at the same time, show on a separate screen my hands as I play the music for the student to imitate.How do I do this? Better yet, if I can also see on a separate screen how the student imitates what I am doing. Is this possible? I'd appreciate your response. Thank you very much!
You could easily login using two devices on the same google meet. For example, a laptop & iPad or iPad & smartphone. Position the smartphone on your hands so students can see you playing. Share screen on iPad/Laptop for the music. Now students can see both at the same time.

It looks backwards to the host, but the participants should see it the proper way round. 🤔

Thanks for the great video. I am a new user on IPAD plus google meet, as a participant, how can i change the setting so i can see everyone on the screen? Currently the participant is just on the right side of the screen while teacher is presenting. Is there a way to be able to see everyone without having to scrolling up and down?
There isn't a way to see everyone on an iPad. As a participant if you don't have to ever share your screen, try using safari and NOT the app. Then you'll have the desktop version and you'll be able to see everyone.

If chose broadcast screen, it will sharing to other audience. If record using screen recording, the result has no sound..why ?

is this still available in Safari? or does meet requiere a specific version of Safari? In my old iPad with iOS 12.5.1 is doesn't allow to open meet in browser, only through the app
IPadOS 12.5.1 use the Google meet app. But if you have iPadOS 13.x then you can use Google Meet in Safari. In this video I'm using the app version even though I'm on version 13.4

Since iPadOS 14 the privacy protocols prevent Google Meet, Zoom, or Skype to run split screen during screen sharing. If you really can't do without these features then you'll have to consider a different device other than the iPad. Personally, I made do with switching between different apps when I have to screen share with my students. It's annoying 😡 but doable. Regarding the students being able to see you, just sign in with another device, like your smartphone.
@@BeardSquaredEdtech thank you. I actually send about 50 bug reports and feature requests to apple support. Apple's latest response was that they would try to correct this mistake. So I hope they keep their promise.
how can i annotate my students writing when they share screen?
Amazing video, but how do you share a TH-cam video with sound from the iPad. I teach kindergarten, so we watch songs and such, but for the life of me, I can’t make it work. I share the screen, they can watch the TH-cam video, but they cannot hear it. Help please!
It doesn't work. You can share your screen and play the TH-cam video. But the audio doesn't work. Unfortunately, you'll have to use a proper computer/laptop web browser like Chrome or safari. 😡 Makes me angry.

Do you get any lag when you're presenting? I tried sharing my iPad 5th generation's screen and it showed everything but with very low fps

Yes it's available if you're using safari. But if you're using the app, then no.

Good day sir. I am having trouble using the split view feature while broadcasting on Google Meet. Warning saying 'screen recording has stopped due to: Recording interrupted by multitasking and content resizing' flashed. Why is that?
Unfortunately 😡 this is Apple iPadOS 14 and Google Meet privacy 🔏 issues. It won't work anymore.

Raise hand 🖐️ is available in the latest update on Google Meet for iPad. Please update your app and try again. 👍
Can we record live lectures while taking class on google meet ?
If you're a student. That is, you're not hosting the meeting, I don't see why you couldn't just screen record your own device. That why you'd have the lecture recorded on your iPad. You'll have to try. Go to the control centre and press the record ⏺ button the next time you have a Google meet lecture. If you're a teacher, i.e. The host, it's not possible for you to broadcadt your screen (screen share) and record your lecture. Google meet doesn't have this feature for web records for the iPad yet.

Depends on your budget. Both are good for online classes/teaching.

Try restarting your iPad. Maybe clear/delete browser history and settings. This site needs user permissions to allow camera and mic to connect.
When I try to do split screen it doesn’t allow it. It stops it from sharing and I have to stop this year

Yes, definitely. My colleagues use an iPad 6th Gen with Apple pencil 1st gen. That works great too 👍. Believe me, you don't need the newest version of the iPad.

Why does the in call chat on iPad 7th generation take over my whole screen while on google meet. I can’t seem to be able to type and make the video visible at the same time.
Hopefully, Google meet will update these features soon.
Why is the sound from my “sharing” iPad not producing sound while hosting a meet using a chromebook? I am also getting an echo while speaking.
The echo is caused by a feedback loop. Mute your microphone from the meet call on your iPad and the echo should stop. Also if you're sharing your iPad screen, then turn on the mic on the iPad meet call and mute the one from your chromebook. I hope this helps.

Google meet works on iPad mini 2. But the latest update doesn't allow split screen multitasking.
Can you record if you are an admin??
The only way to record as host (admin) on an iPad is to delete the app and use meet through safari. The recording will be saved online in your Google drive.

Update your iPad to 14.3 and multitasking should be restored.
Bro does the camera close when you go out of meet
If you leave the app the camera switches off. But if you split scrren the camera stays on.
It's weird because the front camera of the ipad pro is oddly positioned. people have been complaining about that. they're saying it's not ideal for landscape calls.
It gets the job done 👍 and it's better quality than laptop webcams. But you're right, would've been nice to have it at the top 🔝

Just ‘long press’ the screen record button from the drop down menu (control centre) and activate the microphone button. 👍

What happened to your camera when you start presenting? The camera feed is gone.
Live Camera stream isn't available on iPad when you start screen broadcast, (doesn't matter which app you use, zoom, webex, meet, etc.). That's why I share the pro tip using online web cam test.
Beard Squared Apple should fix this bug right? No one is talking about this. This is the biggest problem of an online presenter through iOS.

How to grid view in meet ipad
Right now, you can't. You can only see the participants on the right side or click on the participants tab on top and you can see details of all members. Don't worry, huge updates are coming soon in Sept - Oct.
Where is it saved the broadcast?
Screen broadcast isn't saved anywhere. It's just to share your screen with your participants during the live meeting.

Why does mine say “you can use the camera only when meet is on the screen by itself”?
Unfortunately, Google meet and Apple iPadOS doesn't allow multitasking any more. Hopefully, they fix it.

how to turn on mathype for ipad.
Mathtype I use in windows 10 laptop. But when I transfer presentation to ipad mathtype equations are partially visible. Please let me know if you can find solution for this.
MathType was initially an app on the iPad, it's now an add-on for Microsoft Word and Google docs, and it's a subscription based add-on. That's why it probably won't work without the add-on
