Hi there! Welcome: So, I just wanted to say that I talked a lot more in the introduction, but the video was way too long.. I basically wanted to explain how going through this music we used to listen to when we were adolescents, sparked a new light in me during Covid19, and encouraged myself to start a youtube channel. I felt that doing a purely cooking channel would´ve been more of the same, and it doesn´t really represents who I am.
In this section, I will pick some legendary artists, albums and songs from the Psychedelic Trance world, that inspired my early music appreciation. I was also positively surprised to realize that some of these albums are already becoming a bit of a cult, and that some tunes sound extremely good even today, considering that technology plays a key role in electronic music composition, but luckily - in my opinion - other music genres have devolved! music quality, and in the case of psy trance, the late new styles such as Forest or Dark, aren´t really improving the genre either, helping us to understand that old school artists were truly visionaries and pioneers in the industry, like in many other industries. Respect the Old School!
Paranormal Attack is a Project led by the Portuguese Rui Oliveira, also known as Dj Xangaii. Apparently he started his music career when he was very little, only at 8 years old. He managed to play many instruments, but the keyboards were his main asset. Later he engaged with different music bands, from rock to classic music, finally discovering electronic music.
It wasn’t until he created a remix for the song Seek and Destroy from Metallica, that Paranormal Attack got some international recognition. In 2006 he released his album “Phenomenon”, and today we’ll feature some of his work in Dis! Is Psytrance.
PS: I'm aware of the positioning of texts and myself in front of the camera is wrong. Adobe Premiere really gave me headaches when editing and exporting this video, but I will improve! Sorry about that!.
