Heya. The dark sauce you keep referring to is actually dark soy sauce, can be salty or sweet-ish flavour. Nasi lemak originally comes wropped in that banana leave. The sauce is actually sambal. We South-East Asians used lots of sambals in our dishes, and they've got different varieties too. Hope this little bit of info helps :). Be safe and enjoy your trip!
Omg, the Airbnb that you stayed at looked amazing, very contemporary! And anything wrapped in a banana leaf has got to be delish. Wish I was there, 💖 malaysian food
You should have gone to Malacca! Not many people have heard of it and usually go up to Penang/George Town. But Malacca is much more relaxed, I loved it there. Whereas we found George Town to be quite busy
4:35 - I believe condensed milk was introduced into SE Asia during/after World War II. It's used widely in SE Asia because it is canned & is shelf stable (does not refrigeration).
Wheee it is interesting seeing you guys trying out Malaysia food :) and and I'm glad you guys made plan for visiting Penang too! Watching your posts are like tagging along in the journey, awesome guys!
Nate (of Kara and Nate) really wanted to go in that pool but I believe he explained it was for hotel guests only. Lol. Very good exploring, filming, and edeiting.
Wow I’ve watched this before but only just realised I’ve stayed at that same place before. Unfortunately they are doing some building work so you don’t get a good view of the Petronas towers anymore. Still KL is a great city to visit!
Got to qualify the ''milk'' in condensed milk as all (or almost all) of the eateries nowadays use the regular version that is made of PALM OIL and has little if any milk content. REAL condensed milk with actual milk content is still sold but costs 4-5 times more.
Really like your videos. Great filming, editing, and information. Just wondering when you will visit down under i.e. Australia and New Zealand ... i think you will really enjoy yourselves :)
SOOOOO!!! looking forward to you both visiting New Zealand!!! Please visit Nelson you will be pleasantly surprised, including the Able Tasman National Park area :)
We did actually! Very cool people, had a nice Indian dinner with them, decided to keep the cameras off though 👍 Keep your eyes out for a collab with them some day!
You have come a long way from the type of places you stayed in on your first road trip around USA. Remember the flooding trailer home in Mississippi or the Tee Pee you didnt stay in Texas 🕷🕸🕷🤤
i have been following a photographer called Brendan van Son, and he and his partner were in the same pool and they even went to the batu cave at a similar time that you did
that free flight probably mean the animal was not caged, if i not mistaken, there bird park and butterfly park, even tho i said the animal was not caged, it's actually a park that surrounded by huge massive nets. but maybe I'm wrong.
Hey the food in Penang is freaking amazing. You HAVE TO go to Tek Sen Restaurant, everything there is super authentic and legit! There is always a loooong line though so try to get there a bit early. The signature there is their twice cooked pork which is like sweet caramelised fatty pieces of pork because it's been cooked two ways. Also, a must try from Penang is their char kway teow, it's as well known as a Pad Thai but it tastes more sweet because they use dark soy sauce in the cooking! There are soo many stalls that sell it, but there are some pretty famous ones you can look up :)
What do you guys think about Kuala Lumpur in general? We were not impressed with the city at all. I mean yeah, Batu Caves is alright, but besides Petronas Tower, KL Tower, and eating Nasi Lemak we found it hard to find interesting things to do. Glad you were able to find a nice airbnb. We had booked an airbnb too, but had to contact airbnb upon arrival as it was just disgustingly dirty, subsequently checking in at a hotel as we simply could not find any appealing airbnbs in KL.
We didn't mind it too much actually. I think you pretty much nailed it on the things to do though. It was pretty fun just walking around and exploring the city though! And that huge park we found was pretty cool. It was a nice break from all the pollution.
lool. mystery vegetable. and i've never thought of the chili as a spicy spaghetti sauce before. hmm... maybe it's time to try mixing some of that sambal with spaghetti😋😋
The view was impressive! 😲 What did you feel there? I was a little scared watching it. The food was nice, I wanna try that rice 🍚 and monkeys again! They're very cute, hugs guys and get well soon dear Nikita! I send you kisses.
If you want good food, go to Murni Discovery, it's basically a restaurant jampacked with jumbo sized Malaysian food at really great prices, and you'll find that place packed with locals! Have fun in KL!
It's not wrap in a bamboo leaf 😂 banana leaf to be exact. Hahaha. you heat the leaf and put all the ingredients inside, when it's time to eat and you open it you'll get a nice aroma 😁
You guys get paid to Travel and also enjoy doing something most people dreamed to do. Very lucky to be able to live the lifestyle you both are able to enjoy doing.
Ooooh Guys u miss so much on food by limited yourself only certain food from my following your blogging do more research can get u more gastronomy food anywhere happy trip

Don't compare Malaysia to Arabs sir, this is South East Asia not Middle East we're not the same. The womens here has the freedom to wear anything they want. They wear hijab by choice not by law. You need to check your facts mate. And please people don't try to troll because you'll just look like a 4th grader.
schwarz404 Malaysian state introduces public canings for those who break Sharia law Firstly, this title already misleading. Only one state implemented it which is Kelantan. And it is quite recently in 2015. As to date, i don't hear any major cases involving Sharia Law in Kelantan yet.

spaghetti sauce is tomato base but sambal in the nasi lemak is chilli, onion based.. no tomatoes.... oh yeah it also has some shrimp paste
You should have gone to Malacca! Not many people have heard of it and usually go up to Penang/George Town. But Malacca is much more relaxed, I loved it there. Whereas we found George Town to be quite busy

I have an apartment at the condo they stayed at, the pool is open to public as well so if you don't stay there, you can still visit the pool
That pool tho! Great views up there, perfect for droning.
That plant that curls up is a sensitive plant. You can buy them here. They aren't as big maybe but the leaves are the same size.

Yeah it was nuts!
I always play with that plant when I was a kid😄
The chicken was coated with turmeric powder with salt before it was fried. You cAn try it at home.
Nate (of Kara and Nate) really wanted to go in that pool but I believe he explained it was for hotel guests only. Lol. Very good exploring, filming, and edeiting.
Everything looks amazing, the food and the park. Have a Question, what is the most popular take out there?
Wow I’ve watched this before but only just realised I’ve stayed at that same place before. Unfortunately they are doing some building work so you don’t get a good view of the Petronas towers anymore. Still KL is a great city to visit!
A building with butterflyes is called a "Butterfly Aviary".
