    Great video! I need to do this as well. I was trying to identify what looks like a VGV actuator for a turbo down by the turbo? Is that a BD Screamer turbo on there?
    Cheers,
    Lyle

    Hey after u degreased rockers. U left it. Or ? Can I use brake cleaner

    • @racerjoe427
      @racerjoe427 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I washed the degreaser off with water. I guess you can use brake clean but not sure if it will work as good.

    Good video. Did it fix the leak though. I have the exact same problem

    • @racerjoe427
      @racerjoe427 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well after I replaced all the gaskets I noticed majority of the oil was coming out of the oil fill cap so yes I did solve the leak.

    Before you replaced the valve cover gasket.. did you have mild white smoke coming from the engine and a faint odor?

    Did you torque the injector nuts down to a certain degree or just hand tight?

    • @racerjoe427
      @racerjoe427 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just tight enough to do the job. Got to be careful there pretty small and probably easy to strip.

    • @97502sullivan
      @97502sullivan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joe Simon thanks. I ended up doing the who job today. No problems and torqued the injector nuts to 11in/lb, 18 ft/lbs on the rocker box and valve cover box.

      @codylynskey9693 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I have some hefty leakage under mine. Not sure how to tell if its the rear main or the valve and rocker gaskets.

    • @racerjoe427
      @racerjoe427 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cody Lynskey well you want to know something funny? Just found out my oil fill cap was leaking. Oil made its way down to the bottom of the oil pan. Never thought of that.

    • @codylynskey9693
      @codylynskey9693 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Haha damn. they might as well put a giant main pan under the entire engine to catch all the oil these things refuse to contain.

    • @racerjoe427
      @racerjoe427 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Cody Lynskey lol totally. I only did my rear main because I had my trans out. But I did have a slight leak from the back of the engine that dripped down the side of the block which I thought was my valve/rocker gasket. Who knows could have been the full cap the whole time.
