I agree that Sojin doesn't suit the rap parts well but but did you know that she joined 9muses as the main dancer and vocal? 9muses has a lot of raps in their songs and that why they need a rapper. Now Sungah is not active, Sojin has become the official rapper. My point is, Sojin has done an amazing job besides her voice is not naturally suited. Let's be honest, how many girl groups can give such a good performance?
With this performance I get where you're coming from - however her rapping on their Muses' Diary album makes me disagree with you entirely. She's sounds great in the slow raps in "Monster" and the fast-yet toned down rap in "Lip2Lip". However in the song "Shh" she shows she is capable of executing fast raps well. I think this Immortal Song performance, like all IS performances are utilising the old-school aspects of kpop such as where rapping was literally fast-paced chanting. That's what Sojin is doing here, even though It doesn't sound great that's what you'll find from most 90s idol rapping in Korea - 9Muses' album last year proves to me she has what it takes to be the main rapper.
I guess now we can see why Hyemi is the main vocal. Her voice simply has higher range and stronger. I wish people would stop sleeping on them. I got goosebumps from watching this
