& yet Liu Kang won the first 2 tournaments & led the rebellion to take back Earthrealm from Shao Khan's invasion force, he defeated Goro+Shang Tsung+Shao Khan and even defeated Quan Chi & his master Shinnock (a frickin' Elder God) all of them in single combat and he even won the undying love of a bonafide princess to boot whereas Kung Lao has never even come even remotely close to achieving anything like what Liu Kang has!!!
I don't know if Bo Rai Cho was actually being serious about Kung Lao being his favorite student but clearly Liu Kang was his greatest student period!!!

@@DragonHeart613 Kung Lao beaten Goro, Noob Saibot, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi at the same time and beaten Kintaro, his ancestor Great Kung Lao was a longtime MK Champion, Tanya in MKX was flirting with Kung Lao. Bo Rai Cho really meant it that Kung Lao is his favorite student. Quan Chi said to Kung Lao that if he joins him, Kung Lao will surpass Liu Kang. Need i say more?
@@tovolume If Kung Lao beat Shang, Goro & Quan, it was only after Liu Kang beat them all first!!! Those guys were already damaged goods thanks to Liu Kang long before Kung Lao fought them!!!
Goro was undefeated for countless years until Liu Kang challenged him, not even Kung Lao's legendary ancestor: Kung Lao The Greater who was Earthrealm's greatest fighter of his time could beat Goro!!! Kung Lao The Greater won the MK Tournament & prevented Outworld from conquering Earthrealm at that time but his descendant has never even come close to doing the same whereas Liu Kang has!!! Liu Kang won the tournament multiple times whereas Kung Lao has never won a single one!!!
Just because Kung Lao may be Bo Rai Cho's favorite protege does NOT mean that he was his greatest one and when you compare Liu Kang & Kung Lao's respective resumes & accomplishments & deeds to one another, it's a total mismatch as Kung Lao will always be forever stuck in Liu Kang's enormous shadow and Kung Lao knows it which is why ever since MK: Shaolin Monks, a part of him has always resented & been envious of Liu Kang!!!
When training them both for the very first time, Bo Rai Cho probably spent more time mentoring Kung Lao & paying him more attention than he did with Liu Kang just solely because of Kung Lao's famous bloodline and expected him to be just as successful as his famed ancestor while Liu Kang on the other hand was a mere orphan & a virtual unknown at the time yet look at how vastly different things turned out, Liu Kang qualified & won the 1st MK while Kung Lao didn't than Liu Kang beat Shao Khan to win the 2nd MK & beat him again to save Earthrealm from Khan's invasion force in MK3, Liu Kang even conquered Shinnock a bonafide Elder God in MK4, something Kung Lao has never pulled off!!!
Kung Lao thought that just because he's descended from Kung Lao The Greater that that automatically meant that he was fated to be Earthrealm's next champion, he expected to inherit greatness rather than fight for it which Liu Kang did and the reality check was a harsh one for Kung Lao to see his best friend go on to achieve everything that he originally envisioned for himself based solely on his lineage rather than his own merit & ability!!!
Hate on Liu Kang & sing Kung Lao's praises all you want for as long as you want dude but the facts are the facts and you just gotta accept it!!!

And yeah i have the right to praise Kung Lao as my man, half of the roster can roast all they want, Kung Lao proved to be a superior fighter, the reason Shao Kahn snapped his neck is because he's too chicken to face him
