- Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars is a crossover fighting game developed by Eighting and published by Capcom. The game features characters from both Capcom's video game franchises and various anime series produced by Tatsunoko Production. It was originally released in Japan for arcades and the Wii video game console in December 2008 as Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes (タツノコ VS. CAPCOM CROSS GENERATION OF HEROES). Following high demand from international fans, Capcom worked with Tatsunoko to resolve international licensing issues and a second version, Ultimate All-Stars, was released for the Wii in North America, Japan, and Europe in January 2010, featuring additional characters and online multiplayer.
In Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, players engage in combat with a team of two characters or with a single giant character and attempt to knock out their opponents. It is the seventh Capcom-designed installment in their Vs. fighting game series, which includes the Marvel vs. Capcom and Capcom vs. SNK series, and the first to be fully rendered in 3D graphics. The game is set in a 2.5D environment; characters fight in a two-dimensional arena, but character models and backgrounds are rendered in three-dimensional graphics. The game is designed around a simplified three-button attack system, which was inspired by the simplistic control schemes commonly used by both the Vs. series and the Wii.

Playing this game as a kid and seeing that this game isn’t forgotten really just hit me in the face with nostalgia
I wish it had seen a wider release outside of the Wii, but it's still great!
@@DoctorBadvibes and sadly we won’t see a sequel for this game cause it was made by the MvC3 director who then later quit at Capcom a few years later
I guarantee you. The director of this game and MVC3 is absolutely NOT the reason this game isn't getting a sequel. More like the licensing rights would probably be a fucking nightmare and it probably would've made more sense during the 2010's when Tatsunoko was getting a lot of new anime projects to old series like Casshern and Gatchaman made.

I legitimately prefer Morrigan's level 3 here because she summons Lilith. Very disappointed that MvC3 and Infinite don't do that little detail
MvC3 and Infinite also have a weaker aerial Darkness Illusion ender. But, that can also be said for other Capcom VS. games.
Yeah, I feel it sucks Morrigan isn’t shown calling Lilith to help in Darkness Illusion in recent Vs. games.

I just realized that when they do a Hyper Combo, they're transported to an abandoned rock quarry with a green screen background like in the old tokusatsu shows.

This is why I prefer this game over Marvel because of how oddball these character choices are. Especially current Marvel with Disney.
I had no clue who 90% of the Tatsunoko roster was but it made me check it out and appreciate them, a bit weird on the random explosion nudity but I still. Most of the Capcom supers were never used in MVC3 or MVCI, making this game very unique and stand out. I know its impossible to renew the license, but maybe in the future something will happen, we got Super Mario RPG remake, UMVC3 is back on the market. Never say never.
The best fighting game of the last 10 years. Incredibly fun and well balanced.
Yeah, a shame that Capcom hasn’t been able to get to license Tatsunoko again for a potential sequel. Maybe they can partner again with Bandai Namco and do Shonen Jump vs. Capcom.

@@demi6662 well the game is still fun at least compared to Marvel vs Capcom infinite plus tatsunoko and ain't really known in the west that much unless Speed Racer or Evangellion.

I love that frank west and the announcer are the only ones who can speak English while the others speak Japanese

7:06 The level 3 of Tekkaman Blade can be triggered without hitting the force field, unleashing just a big laser
7:31 if you do it so close to the opponent, it has another animation
13:52 Alex has another Hyper Bomb. You need to grab the opponent from its back and he does 5 hits.
14:19 you can follow up the super guts uppercut with an aerial combo
16:27 Soki can do the flaming sword while he's in his transformation.
18:05 Viewtiful Joe has 3 poses at the end of this Level 3 Hyper combo.
But at least they remembered to do Ippatsuman's supers twice for no reason. 😒
And frank west has a completely different super against Giant Enemies where a zombie falls on them and Frank surrounds him in a pile of bombs and blows him up

Yatterman 2 can deal more damage with level 3 if you mash the buttons.
Ippatsuman's level 3 charging can be interrupted if you jump and hit the crystal on his robot's chest.
Viewtiful Joe can combo Cannon after Level 3.
Ryu can extend Level 3 with ground combos after a buffered light tatsu into crouch medium. (Corner only)
Roll does increased damage if you do the scrubber super on top of a puddle she made. More bubbly. Also gives her a damage buff that persists the whole match.
Having grown up on "Battle of the Planets", it's nice seeing Gatchaman hasn't been forgotten to time.

I played the heck out of this game! I remembered when i had wii and wii is still popular back then, my parents bought this game from a movie rent store with games section. But after few days come they take it back...

I'd like to see a video where each of the characters hyper combo lines are translated to English, because as far as I know, there is no video on what the characters are saying during their hyper combos on TH-cam. The only ones I can figure out are Zero's ("Checkmate! It's over!) and Chun-li's level 3 ("You ready for this?/Prepare yourself! Seven Star Flashing Air Leg!") It would be cool to understand what each character including the tatsunoko characters are saying.

When this game was announced did anyone know who Tatsunoku was? To me this seemed like the most out there idea for a crossover. I get teaming up with Marvel and SNK those are two recognizable brands with memorable characters. But until I discovered this game, which was a few years ago I NEVER heard of this company.
I was aware of some of the characters. Mainly the G-Force / Battle of the Planets ones, but not the company as a whole. I remember when it was announced and thinking it was a total "WTF" choice. I wish it hadn't been Wii-exclusive, but it's a fun game. We wouldn't have gotten MVC3 without it.
@@DoctorBadvibes It was interesting to see characters Frank West, Viewtiful Joe and Zero get their start in the VS series which I always thought started with Marvel Vs Capcom 3 but started a year earlier and characters like Batsu from Rival Schools Alex and Volnutt of Mega Man Legends fame were a pleasant surprise, in fact I’d love to see them return for a future Marvel Vs Capcom game

Seriously. If they don't want to do the licensing, just do "Capcom vs Capcom". They have enough of their own IP to make a game with all the VS mechanics and a huge roster.

And, Capcom always learns the wrong lessons from their supposed "failures" so they think people just don't want an all Capcom crossover game instead of admitting that people want one but they didn't give the "Capcom Fighting Evolution" crew enough time and money to make one that doesn't suck.

You can build that with MUGEN right now, but janky. If UMVC3 modding continues to progress, we may see a fan-made version that looks like the real deal.

Yeah only on Wii and arcade (based on Wii hardware) ... I wish it was released on other systems, but we're lucky we even got it anywhere outside of Japan.
