I had no clue this was on the Famicom; I actually had the C64 version (this was the second of three games, IIRC). I honestly remember very little about it, other than it was a decent amount of fun, which maybe sums it up: A pretty good throwaway title, but not one that lives long in the memory. Oh, and I also had to play exclusively versus the AI because I had no friends, either. 😆
Interesting this only got a Japanese release. I do like the concept but doesn't seem like they ever found a decent way to make it work. like the map just reveals all the traps?
I dare say it was a better game in the '80s than it is now: I remember it being quite well regarded at the time and I enjoyed it quite a lot back then for what it was. I can't imagine spending much time with it today, though. I vaguely recall keeping half an eye on the other screen just so I could try setting the AI up for traps: Watching the animations when he got snared was as much fun as winning the game. 😆
Joke and dagger dept. Just like in the magazine. Was hoping for something fun and secret, but that's still nice.
I think this was planned for a U.S. release at one point, even getting previewed in an issue of Nintendo Power.

Anyone know Morse code?
Top comment has it translated... "Joke and Dagger department"
