I love the Switch, but man, its total lack of music in the home screen, settings, eShop, album, etc. just makes it feel like the coldest Nintendo console in recent memory. Really hope that a Switch Pro might add in music and breathe some life into the UI, because the Wii (and the 3DS/Wii U) had personality that burst at the seams from the moment you booted it up.
Yeah. Was kinda disappointed that they never added any of that stuff to the UI. :(
But maybe they'll add it in later somehow. Or something like that because it just ain't the same without the music. 😔
Unfortunatley that wouldn't be a switch pro (switch pro would be like the oled but stronger) but hopefully for a complete successor to the switch that is very possible

Very few games have replicated that very specific feeling I had playing Super Mario Galaxy for the first time.
Shoooooooot, I have to say the same. It was something about that game. I don't know what it was but just ahhhhhh. Relaxing, stressful, fun yet challenging and so much more. Mario Galaxy was definitely a blast.
Same for me, I miss those old days of me sitting on my bed looking at the tv only playing Mario Galaxy that Christmas Morning :c

It absolutely has a unique feel and identity you get right from the start of the first level. Only galaxy 2 has ever managed to replicate it for me.
WIi game music all has such a distinct sound and nostalgic vibe to it, like when you hear a song from a Wii game it makes you go "yeah, that sounds like Wii game music"
Yeah, I know what ya mean. I don't really know what it is, but it has, a certain tone to it that makes ya know "Yeahhhh, that's definitely from the Wii."
The Wii has hands down some of my most favorite games, and a lot of tracks are super nostalgic. Thanks for such an amazing mix :)

I miss the late 2000's, early 2010's...being done with school and homework and just playing Mario Galaxy/Brawl/Mario Sports Mix/Mario Kart Wii/Mario Party 8/etc or just messing around in the different Wii Channels to pass time.
Yeah, I feel ya on that one. I used to just do Brawl alllll the time. That and all the silly channels I had. Those were the years. :')
I wish nintendo still did channels like the Wii had. Something about them were very niche but entertaining. I loved just jumping on one for a few minutes each day to vote on random stuff or find weird Mii's for Mario Kart. Was such a cool experience.
Yeah, tbh. Although some seemed a bit unnecessary or just a bit strange in some aspects, it was still really nice to have a variety of overall strange, wacky, and weird channels to play around and experience with. Comparing the Wii to the Switch, I honestly felt that the Wii had more life to it vs. just serving it's basic purpose and that being that.

For sure. Some songs, I usually do hear around in other compilations, but I think it's the "smaller" tracks within the Wii era that truly made it special. 😌

Oh my goodness, YES. Twilight Princess really hit me in a way I didn't know videogame music could.
There was something just so novel and fresh about the Wii, it carried this confident yet soothing and very clean atmosphere that no other console has ever matched. A lot of people dislike Nintendo going casual, but the excellent presentation of the Wii really made games into something fun and presentable for a lot of people that otherwise never would have gotten into games.
Yeah, come to think on it, I think it's the casual gaming approach that Nintendo took during the early 2000s that made them so popular.

i can't tell you how hard nostalgia hit me when the wii fit theme came, me and my sibling used to play but awhile back our balance board broke and i haven't touched the game since and i forgot all about the music.
Even without the balance board, may the memories still live on through the game's wonderful music. 🥂o7

The Globe (Night) theme transitioning into the Wii Sports Bowling theme made me cry man. That truly brought me to a place of hope I had never felt before: it was like I was transitioning from a process of existential reflection (Globe Night theme) dealing with that reflection, and from that, rising into a place of uplifting enlightenment (Wii Sports Bowling theme). I know to some people this may sound a little crazy, but that is the power of the Wii music by Totaka and the affect it has on me. Wow... Thank you.
Man.... I really felt that one right there. Some of these songs really do have me deep in thought and processing self reflections, and then the next one plays and my whole world just changes and that sense of hope just swoops on in and slapps me all in the face. Man, Wii musik truly is something else.

Some consoles were home consoles, but the Wii was a console for the home :) People always say the wii days are over, and true , the internet services are down and there are no more new games, there is nothing stopping you from sitting down and playing Mariokart, lego star wars, or anything else with some friends

Wii Party is just so nostalgic to me. The music is pretty good too. I remember sitting in my living room with my cousins who only visited like once every year, playing wii party as a family. Man I miss those days. We would get all competitive, even though it was just Wii party, and then for christmas 2014 (2015 maybe?) I got my own copy of wii party. Always wanting to play it and mario cart. Ah the good old days

God the nostalgia! I was going through all the songs to remember what they sounded like after years, and when I got to the wii fit plaza theme I literally teared up. I don't even have any specific memories of playing the games, but just hearing the music was enough to get put into a nostalgia choke-hold.

This playlist was so good... I have a sincere memory of my Wii rooted deeply into my childhood and it overall made me become the person I am today, remembering these nostalgic days made me cry. I wish I could go back and stay back. Thank you...for the phenomenal mix.

The photo channel. is probably the closest to my heart out of all of the channels, I spent the most time on it, doodling, puzzles, slideshows, all the different effects you could put on the pictures that would distort the music accordingly. One of the most fun and relaxing channels, I love the doodle theme so much.
Same here. Like mannnnn. Me and my siblings would just goof off in that channel all day. Truly one of my calmest places to go to as a kid. 😌

The menu for the mariokart channel is incredibly nostalgic to me. I remember laying down for hours at a time listening to the song on repeat. This music collection is truly something special.

I really really miss playing the Wii over at my childhood friends house. My parents wouldn't get one so I was always so so hyped when I got to sleepover at his house and play the Wii all night. That was back in middle school and now I'm heading into graduate school. Time really flies...

Mmmm, OH MAN does this give good vibes. The WII was my childhood hands down and I am glad to have spent my days with it back when it first released and I was like 5 years old, and my family still plays it! We usually play it during parties or lazy days on the weekends, the games we play usually consist of Mario Kart, Mario Party, and even Wii Sports Resort.

Me and my family still have mine and often still play Mario Kart, Smash Bros. brawl, or Mario Bros. Wii where we yell at each other for stealing power-ups, lol.

My sister got a wii around 2015 or 2016 but she never played it at all and I played the games on there and it was so fun bc I played games like skylanders and Lego Batman and wii sports but I wish my dad didn’t sell it with all the games and my sister “got” freakin 26 games on the wii but she never played it instead i but I was so young at the time and dumb and lazy to play all of it like there was Kirby and og Mario kart on there
But today I a top notch gamer on Nintendo and Xbox and pro at watching walkthroughs
